We were very excited to see all the players interested in our new game when we put up our interest check, and are glad to have you guys join us! Thank you for applying to join Etraya and giving our game a chance. At this point, we have 35 Characters who have applied in for our first round. Given that applications do not close until 3PM PST today, there is still time to get in any last-minute applications! As a heads up, we have updated our FAQ to reflect that mod posts, including mission posts and OOC intros, will be posted at or before 3PM PST on the day they are meant to go up. We don't want to give ourselves a strict time, given we appreciate having the flexibility to make last-minute changes as needed to suit our player base, but do promise we will get them up by 3PM PST. We'll be updating our LOCATIONS page over the next week with additional places based on those who applied and were accepted; if there's any location you would like to see in particular, please feel free to use the provided form so we can get it added! Additionally, please check out our CALENDAR noting the dates of the upcoming mission and Activity Check due dates. For new characters, activity is simply responding to the ACTIVITY CHECK page using the formatting provided. Anyway hi I'm in my mid-thirties and have been around the LJ/DWRP block for a while. I'm on disability and spend my day Just Hanging Out or engaging in various hobbies. Fandom-wise, Blade of the Immortal kind of has me in a death grip right now, but I also enjoy other manga/anime and uhhh... stuff across the media spectrum. Love The Owl House, She-Ra and the Princesses of Power, Blue Eye Samurai, The Apothecary Diaries, Star Trek: Discovery.

CHARACTER: Asano Rin from Blade of the Immortal

CHARACTER INFO: Woooooooooow so Rin already thought her life was kinda shit, and now you heap this responsibility on her? Wow. Wow.

She's gonna be skeptical of the whole thing, though, and might try to find out if there's some kind of conspiracy trying to trick them all and/or it's all just some giant experiment.

Also she's from the Edo Period, so everything is very weird and overwhelming.

CR NOTES: Honestly, throw anything at me. Friends. Foes. Found family. Partners in crime. Creeps who creep on her. People who do something so egregious she'll want to strange them. The canon point I'm taking her from basically has her at Peak Feral, so I'm excited to play with some rougher themes.

History nerd (currently the Roaring Twenties, but I've worked with general 19th century a lot too, plus Ancient Greece)... I dunno, the last show I binged was Our Flag Means Death, but I really don't watch a lot of popular media. I love ballet and French literature. I'm on disability and tag all throughout the day my time, but since I'm CET/CEST-bound, I will be asleep while most of you people are active. I do try to backtag pretty consistently, though. You can always tell a tag is mine by my massive introspection, although I'm trying to rein it in a bit these days. Also, I haven't been in a game for five+ years, I don't know what I'm doing.

CR NOTES: Found family is my thing, always looking for that. And friends. But also just people to make her look more realistically at the world, argue with her about her naive beliefs, people who are willing to like her as she is but also help make her grow as a person... Anything, really, that can help her develop. Her story is about character growth and I would love to see how far exactly I can take her.

Hi, I'm Starfighter. I am a thousand years old or somewhere around there, chronically online and a forever MSTie. I enjoy anime, books, dramas, manga, webtoons and video games of all sorts but I'm equally always chronically behind on everything. My favorite fandom is Silent Hill, my favorite genre is psychological horror / survival horror, the ARG I'm into at the moment is Welcome Home and the more obscure something is the more I like it apparently so bring it to me.

CHARACTER: Hayan Park, Unholy Blood.

CHARACTER INFO:
Hayan worked real hard to save Korea from being overrun by vampires and she's not exactly thrilled to hear it's done for. She had a guy to kill and everything, how dare you!

Okay for real though, Hayan is a sweetheart. She is one of the last remaining pureblood vampires -- in her world that means she was born a vampire and is pretty overpowered to boot. Her parents had a huge sense of noblesse oblige, seeing it as their duty to protect humans due to their strength. They lived quiet lives in human guises, running a restaurant of all things and generally keeping their little space of home free from trouble.

Well, until Hayan developed a friendship with Yohan Seo. In the end her parents were murdered, she witnessed it at the age of ten and mentally blocked it out for ten more years. Eventually she was found and taken in by Father Michael. The thorn crown she wears in times of stress when her Awakened state threatens to break free was given to her as a child by him to control her inadvertent dropping of her human guise. After Father Michael's death though Hayan got so angry she broke her ability to go back to her human guise even with the crown. Sometimes she wears contacts and a wig now but she doesn't bother with it for much of the series.

All Hayan has ever really wanted was to make friends and go to school. She is exceptionally sweet-natured when she's not fiending for Yohan Seo's death. She has a big sense of responsibility to help others, particularly humans, and she will go to the bat for damn near anyone who isn't an utter asshole.

CR NOTES:
* FRIENDS! Friends! Hayan yearns for friends she can be casual and open with.
* Enemies? I'm down for negative CR too, though Hayan is sort of the type to punch first nowadays.
* Romance? Ships? Sure, I'm game. In canon she's got a budding thing for her partner-in-detective Euntae Hwang but I'm open to others if the chemistry is good.
* VAMPIRE FRIENDS. Supernatural friends! Y'all with sensitive noses to non-humans will note that Hayan smells like blood and power. Whatever high level vampires you've got in your world she likely smells a lot like them. Or feels like them power-wise if that's your thing. She frightens the hell out of lower level vampires by her sheer presence in the series.

CHARACTER INFO: he is a physically 27 year old who's chronologically 60 because he has caught the immortality bug. he also has like four monsters crammed inside of him, so he has to be 24/7 emotionally constipated or else they'll wreck havoc. if anyone knows how he can get a refund for lit all of it, then he'll be happy to pay in blood, brooding and/or well-earned lectures. after having already helped stop one world-ending catastrophe, vinnie isn't exactly thrilled that he has been swept up into another, but like, what can you do? he isn't really here to make friends, unless you're from his world and even then he isn't really here to make friends. he's open to allies though. at the end of the day, the only thing he cares about is saving gaia, so y'know, not-vamp on a mission.

CHARACTER INFO: Natsuno was a normal surly teenager until vampires came to his village, turned him and ruined his life. Then he died and spent two years on a ship powered by suffering.

He's going to the suspicious of Echo and the whole thing. Who died and made this mystery entity in charge of deciding who gets to live?? A lot would depend on how the first mission looks like, but he probably won't be inclined to play along.

CR NOTES: Friends! He definitely needs more of these. He gets along with fellow feral teens and questionable adults. Negative CR works too, he's not the easiest person to get along and doesn't care if people like him.

I'm Alex, located in EST, tagging hours are generally nights and weekends because I work a 9-5 that doesn't allow for tagging during business hours. That said I love to boomerang and have pretty equal preference for rapid-fire textspam and big meaty log tags, depending on what the thread calls for! I do, however, generally like to stay current in terms of game continuity as opposed to backtagging for months at a time.

My current fandoms are the Final Fantasies (FF7 and FF14 specifically), but I also love and have played from stuff like Jojo's Bizarre Adventure, Yu Yu Hakusho, Ace Attorney, Fire Emblem: Three Houses, The Witcher, and Netflix Castlevania. I'm also a big fan of puns, fairy tales, and shenanigans — and when it comes to RP, I can frequently get on board with an idea on as little as "haha okay but wouldn't it be funny if".

CHARACTER:
Rufus Shinra, from Final Fantasy 7 Remake! Though he's functionally the same character in both continuities, Remake is giving me a lot more food to work with and also has some Interesting Implications™ applicable to Etraya's setting, so!

CHARACTER INFO:
Rufus is sort of like what would happen if Tony Stark decided to try to take control of Stark Industries in his college years by secretly funding the Ten Rings to kill his dad, but also like, if Howard really had it coming. At his current canonpoint, he's the recently-ascended president of the Shinra Electric Power Company, courtesy of his old man getting super dead at the hands of the series big bad, and he's not going to be altogether thrilled about the prospect of having to come convince some mysterious rando not to destroy his world when he's just gotten rid of one guy who was trying it and is right on the verge of going after the other guy who's about to attempt it.

At face value, he's your quintessential hyper-privileged rich kid — aloof, arrogant, ruthless, and charismatic in that "you still kind of always want to strangle him a little" ice king sort of way. When you start digging down into his layers, though, he's also an expert marksman who's trained with a bunch of professional assassins and isn't afraid to go one-on-one even against some of the most competent fighters on his world. He's extremely protective (or at least possessive) of his planet and likes to win at all costs, so he's actually quite well-suited to be one of the guys here on Gaia's behalf!

Oh, and he's an absolute dog person. This is his puppy (Darkstar is very much not a puppy) and he loves her so much.

CR NOTES:
weeps this man has never had a friend before in his godforsaken life. He's...not strictly speaking easy to get close to, which is also why I desperately want him to make some actual friends and form some positive human relationships. Canon confirms that he's actually quite lonely, and on some level craves the attention and approval that he never got from his father, so!

Of note, befriending Rufus will almost definitely bring you into contact with (or at least get you vetted by) his castmate Tseng, so! They're a little bit of a twofer that way, make friends with blond Bruce Wayne and you might just get Extremely Deadly Alfred right along with him.

PLOTS YOU'RE INTERESTED IN:
I'm big on RP where the setting and plot happenings facilitate organic character development, so that's really what I'm hoping for from Etraya! Ideally the sort of thing that makes characters examine their own relationships to their worlds, contemplate multiverse questions, form bonds they never would've had the chance to cultivate had they not left their canon circumstances, that sort of thing.

ABOUT YOU: Hello hello, I'm pretty out of the loop on new stuff, but obviously I like Tales of (Abyss, Vesperia, and Symphonia being my faves), some anime (been watching Frieren or Apothecary Diaries for some really new examples; but for those slightly or much older: Tiger & Bunny, Land of the Lustrous, Simoun, Slayers, etc), and for LA shows I've liked The Good Place and Farscape. As far as tagging goes, I have a fair bit of free time right now since I just finished grad school and am currently job searching, and I usually get to things at least once a day! A bit of a preference for log threads over network but also good with both, as well as either brackets or prose style.

CHARACTER: Rita Mordio, Tales of Vesperia + Sail CRAU
CHARACTER INFO: She's a JRPG teen, having to save the world isn't exactly new but she's also very unhappy with this setup!! Even setting aside whether or not it's her canon world or CRAU world she's supposed to be fighting to save here, she's extremely distrustful of the story and will be looking to uncover the ~truth~, whatever it may be. Will try not to take any overly drastic measures...for the time being.

CR NOTES: I'm canonblind to basically everyone but it's fine because I love cross-canon CR!! Rita as a character is very flexible, since depending on the situation and vibes, she can be either incredibly sweet or incredibly snarky, anywhere from surprisingly mature to terribly childish. She's very argumentative and stubborn, but she also meows at cats, and will ramble/lecture about magic which is definitely science, please don't mistake it for the dumb kind of fake nonsensical magic!! So I'm here for all kinds of CR - positive, negative, friends, frenemies, nemeses, found family... She's kind of afraid of the supernatural but has eased up slightly on that from her time in CRAU. Speaking of--romance-wise she's already spoken for; Natsuno (neverleave) is her very sweet and adorable and wonderful vampire boyfriend. They're embarrassing. Other characters are free to have seen them together.

He's also made a very positive impression on Krouse so far just by being nice, and I'd love to expand on that if you're interested! Krouse comes with a lot of problems and one of them happens to be related to a tireless quest involving Saving His Girlfriend, so there are some potential parallels to be had there too.

CHARACTER: Joric | Original Character (+ CRAU)
CHARACTER INFO: Joric is what happens when you mash together Vikings, the Nords of the Elder Scrolls franchise, and the Avvar of the Dragon Age franchise together and bring to a simmer. After suffering the loss of his brother in battle, Joric volunteers to let the mages' council of the army experiment on him to make him a living weapon. He has an enhanced berserker mode meant for battle, but it's taking him over and the bouts of rage are difficult to stop. With no cure in sight, he decides to abandon the army in search of one.

He's arriving in game straight from another rp game, Ximilia, where he lived on a space station and retrieved chaos orbs in exchange for undoing a regret. So now he's coming into the game cured of his rage.
CR NOTES: After some bad experiences in the past, I'm over doing negative CR. I'm up for anything else: friendship, found family vibes, goofs, deep convos, action scenes. He's kind of sort of in a relationship with Daisy Johnson, who just so happened to hop from Ximilia to here too, so he's covered for shipping.

Some conversation points:

He loves the mountains; the more snow the better. His people are suited to colder temperatures so he can walk around shirtless in snowy conditions. This also means he gets overheated easily in hotter temperatures.

He's 6'5" so he can get that thing off the top shelf for you.

Former soldier who - while he doesn't suffer from extreme PTSD - sometimes has nightmares and can sometimes recognize PTSD in others and is willing to talk things out to help.

He's gotten somewhat used to technology from his last game but he still prefers doing things the old fashioned way and has about as much tech know how as a grandma who calls her grandkids every time the electricity goes out to come over and reprogram the time on her microwave.

He will eat literally anything edible. The man is a human garbage chute. Your character is a bad cook? Burns everything? Doesn't matter. He will eat it. He'll say it's terrible, but he'll eat it.

Always honest no matter what, so he'll be blunt and sometimes rude until he gets to know a person's personality and if they're sensitive he'll use more tact.

PLOTS YOU'RE INTERESTED IN: I looooove exploration and adventure. Anywhere where his skills as a former soldier and a survivalist in the wild might come in handy to make him feel useful. Digging into mysteries, action scenes, brainstorming and problem solving all work for me!

Dimension20, LOTR 5eva, I've been reading a lot of garbage YA lately, still obsessed with the Raven Cycle. I looooooooove text tags, they really are great for getting in my RP butt in gear. Usually, I'm slow during the work days and better on the weekends, but if you ever want a thread boomeranged you can ask and I'll do my best.

CHARACTER: Tim Drake, DC Comics (Rebirth).
CHARACTER INFO: He absolutely hates this whole shitshow, with an undercurrent on having done this before because DC has had several "oh no the multiverse is crashing" events in his lifetime and IT NEVER ENDS WELL. Also, Tim is never at the cool kids table, so that doesn't bode well. In the choice between making friends or stabbing people in the back, he'll choose friends, please, but depending on the missions he might just have a Sheldon-esque cat breakdown. You'll find Zsaszles quite zazzy.
CR NOTES: His found family in various versions seems to be mostly accounted for in one version or another. I'll take any CR offered, but I admit I love chaos and will absolutely make the worst best decision at all times. Also friends who are clearly friends but neither of them will acknowledge it because they both refuse to talk about their feelings sounds amazing. Tim usually finds out someone is his friend when they just TURN UP in Gotham unannounced, so I'm going to have to figure out how Nancy Drew here gets a clue without someone hitting him on the head.

ABOUT YOU: I love possums. One of the best marsupials out there. Enjoy how their mouths get so big. In terms of fandom, I dabble in most superhero canons, had a deep Batman comics phase, enjoy science fiction generally, and the recent release of the latest instalment in the Dune movie adaptation living up to my childhood dreams rewired parts of my brain. My pace varies but I like boomeranging when things line up that way, and I try to match length of tags in threads. A fun fact about me is that I'm very fond of spreadsheets for real.

CHARACTER INFO: Krouse will start off not being too invested in the fate of the world he was brought from, because it's not the world he considers actually his own. When he figures out it's not clear which world they're representing, he'll be reconsidering that position. For now, his major motivation will be attempting to figure out how to use this new setting to his advantage - he has some personal goals in mind.

He's also lying extensively about himself to start off with. His current cover story is that he was in prison for stealing a car, which is technically one of the crimes he did commit, but not actually the reason he ended up there. In reality, Krouse was a supervillain mercenary whose career ended in spectacular and tragic fashion. He's not looking to pick that life back up here, and would prefer to keep a low profile and get along, but there's probably going to be some friction when it comes to how he tends to approach problem solving with a certain degree of 'practical ruthlessness'.

CR NOTES: I'm interested in building on the positive starts he's made with people on the TDM and playing out the gradual reveal of what's actually going on with him. Krouse is dealing with the aftermath of some significant personal losses, so he'll be leery of getting too attached to anyone new, but he's lonely enough that it'll be hard for him to avoid it. He's often annoying on purpose, so I'm also open to exploring more friction-based relationships with him - Krouse is probably a good petty sniping partner.

PLOTS YOU'RE INTERESTED IN: To start off with, I'm most interested in getting Krouse to a point where he buys into the game's world saving premise fully. Events that involve dealing with the ramifications of what's going on here will probably be helpful for that, as will building his attachments to other people who do care about what happens to the worlds they come from. Multiverses are also a significant part of his canon and his backstory specifically, so I'm keen on exploring things related to that.

CR NOTES: give me friends, enemies, whatever you'd like. generally, he's extremely easy to get along with and is a big brother type of character, so if your character wants that kind of mentorship or even just a sparring partner, he's pretty much always game.

CHARACTER INFO: Being thrown into scenarios like this isn't a new thing for Daisy, but she can’t say she’s thrilled to be here. She can be a team player when she needs to be, but don’t get on her bad side. She will not tolerate people being rude, or worse, trying to harm or her anyone else.

CRAU info: Prior to arriving at Etraya, Daisy resided on Ximilia, a space station, for 2.5 years. She had been brought there under the agreement that if she gathered these powerful orbs, they’d undo a regret of hers. Which was to get another chance at a relationship with her mother. During her time there she went on various missions on different planets to gather these orbs. All of which had a level of danger. Some, much more dangerous than others.


(TW for mind control) She also was essentially controlled by the orbs to do horrible things, which she is still reeling from. So she may seem more distant and standoffish.


CR NOTES: I know it’s such a basic response, but I’m down for just about anything! I’m not the type of person who likes to really plan things out. I much prefer to just see where things go naturally.

That being said, Daisy is in a relationship(??? It’s complicated) with Joric from the previous place they had been residing in prior to arriving here. So romance is off the table.

CHARACTER INFO: This will be a bit of A Time for Bruce as he's coming from after Alfred's been injured by The Riddler and... is in a lot of His Feels at the moment because of that. Guilt, anger, depression. You know. Usual trauma stuff. Not to mention he's used to flying solo currently as he doesn't have a Robin or any kids yet. He's only been obsessed with being Vengeance for about 2 years so far, cut him some slack, ok? He'll definitely be doing all that he can to try and figure things out here because that's what he does. Also to note, he's definitely more Batman than Bruce at the moment. Rip to everyone.

CR NOTES: He'll be a little difficult to friend given how moody, quiet, and loner-esque he is currently, but it's not impossible. Just don't expect him to be a social butterfly. He tends to get along well with Gordon types or those who have similar goals in mind, so if you're looking to figure all this out, he'll likely come around for info and the like. He's also extremely sympathetic to losing family, especially kids losing family, and while he still might be a little shaky in offering comfort there, it's a little easy for an in with him. I do intend to slowly move him towards realizing he needs to be both Batman and Bruce and have him come out of his socially inept phase he's currently in.

My favorite historical drama was The Last Kingdom, I greatly enjoyed Wheel of Time and Dune 2 when it comes to more fantasy, my favorite books I've read in the last year are The Book Of The Unnamed Midwife and The Poppy War trilogy. CHARACTER INFO: The entire world on the brink of destruction is nothing new by now, and tbh Clarke probably thrives a little in the stress of it. From space princess to Earth based warlord to captive on a suffering powered ship, Clarke's been through an emotional wringer and is so tired, but always ready to fight to protect the people she loves. She will most likely be guarded upon arrival, but there's a heart of gold deep down if one's willing to wade through the trauma to get to it. Very codependent with her CRAU buddies (Natsuno and Rita), but always willing to trauma-bond with some new folks or make allies in the fight to save the world (may or may not include backstabbing, we shall see!)

CR NOTES: I'm down for any and all types of CR! I'd love for her to make some new friends, maybe even an enemy or two (love an initial bad impression somehow turning around through the events of the game as well!); if anyone needs to be bossed around she's your gal, and if anyone can make her chill out and enjoy life for once, please help! I love the found family trope, I can get behind betrayal arcs, and just in general I'm pretty flexible with all things. Shipping would be... a task, considering most everyone she's ever loved has died, but if it happens I'm down. I'm canonblind to a lot of folks here but so, so excited to get educated via RP. ABOUT YOU: I don't super love possums if only because I am a total trash panda. I can write a lot, and tag back pretty consistently except for when IRL kicks my butt. I get pretty lucky where I only work 3 days a week but those days are usually insane. That being said I also backtag for ages.

CHARACTER: Angel Dust from Hazbin Hotel. I wont lie I been waiting years for this and I am consuming the heck out of it.
CHARACTER INFO: Angel is likely to be annoyed to be shuffled off to a whole new realm. Basically I can only imagine him being lowkey annoyed/frustrated that he'd worked so hard on 'being better' only to be sort of trapped in something very similar to square one.
However though that probably made it a little easier to go ahead and open up to other people so while he might not see it at first he will hopefully recognise that he is better off for having done all that legwork with everyone at the hotel.
He will probably be more comfortable with the more 'spooky' aspects than some people because, well, hell be hell. So anyone having a hard time with such a thing might work well for him.

CR NOTES: I am pretty easy going when it comes to CR. I think he'd mostly be looking for friends having opened up more to his 'crew' prior coming to this world. I would love to explore that aspect a lot more so am very much looking to friendly interactions and maybe just a little shit stirring~
