 ⏵ March State of the Game and Arrivals ⏴ Hello and welcome to Etraya! We were very excited to see all the players interested in our new game when we put up our interest check, and are glad to have you guys join us! Thank you for applying to join Etraya and giving our game a chance. At this point, we have 35 Characters who have applied in for our first round. Given that applications do not close until 3PM PST today, there is still time to get in any last-minute applications! As a heads up, we have updated our FAQ to reflect that mod posts, including mission posts and OOC intros, will be posted at or before 3PM PST on the day they are meant to go up. We don't want to give ourselves a strict time, given we appreciate having the flexibility to make last-minute changes as needed to suit our player base, but do promise we will get them up by 3PM PST. We'll be updating our LOCATIONS page over the next week with additional places based on those who applied and were accepted; if there's any location you would like to see in particular, please feel free to use the provided form so we can get it added! Additionally, please check out our CALENDAR noting the dates of the upcoming mission and Activity Check due dates. For new characters, activity is simply responding to the ACTIVITY CHECK page using the formatting provided. ABOUT YOU: Hi! I'm really excited to be here! Avid consumer of media with no real medium preference! My favorite historical drama was The Last Kingdom, I greatly enjoyed Wheel of Time and Dune 2 when it comes to more fantasy, my favorite books I've read in the last year are The Book Of The Unnamed Midwife and The Poppy War trilogy. I have half a shelf devoted to DC comics, love documentaries, Baldur's Gate was a religious experience, and also vibe with docu-series/true crime. Also currently teaching myself Data Analysis software. I don't plurk a lot about that stuff though, mostly just screaming about RP!
CST time zone, and I'm pretty much an evenings only tagger (I have two small children that demand all of my attention during the daylight hours, but in proper nerd fashion I named them after characters in my favorite movie!) I default to brackets but am happy to write prose too; kinda rusty on texty tags but love them, and a super wordy overthinker which puts me on the medium-slow pace in terms of speed. I try to hit everything at least once a day, but due to aforementioned small children sometimes I just need to veg out.
CHARACTER: Clarke Griffin from the CW's The 100 + CRAU from Come Sail Away
CHARACTER INFO: The entire world on the brink of destruction is nothing new by now, and tbh Clarke probably thrives a little in the stress of it. From space princess to Earth based warlord to captive on a suffering powered ship, Clarke's been through an emotional wringer and is so tired, but always ready to fight to protect the people she loves. She will most likely be guarded upon arrival, but there's a heart of gold deep down if one's willing to wade through the trauma to get to it. Very codependent with her CRAU buddies (Natsuno and Rita), but always willing to trauma-bond with some new folks or make allies in the fight to save the world (may or may not include backstabbing, we shall see!)
CR NOTES: I'm down for any and all types of CR! I'd love for her to make some new friends, maybe even an enemy or two (love an initial bad impression somehow turning around through the events of the game as well!); if anyone needs to be bossed around she's your gal, and if anyone can make her chill out and enjoy life for once, please help! I love the found family trope, I can get behind betrayal arcs, and just in general I'm pretty flexible with all things. Shipping would be... a task, considering most everyone she's ever loved has died, but if it happens I'm down. I'm canonblind to a lot of folks here but so, so excited to get educated via RP. Generally a big fan of letting the CR evolve naturally, and adore OOC communication if there's anything specific we both want out of a thread ♥
PLOTS YOU'RE INTERESTED IN: Literally all of them! The horror and the mystery call to me like a siren song, along with trying to root out as much about Echo as humanly possible. Clarke's impression of Etraya is currently in limbo just going off the TDM, and however the first few events shake out will ultimately decide if she wants to play along or try to find a way to fight the system.

i gotta say, watching the received application list like a hawk i was so excited to see tim pop up and tbh think these two could get along swimmingly! i absolutely look forward to discussions about escape plans and batspiracy theories! #paranoiapals
i'll also toss a quick canon recap here for you: 100 years after earth was destroyed by nuclear weapons, a couple thousand people are living on a failing space ship. to conserve oxygen they send 100 juvenile delinquents down to earth to see if it's habitable. it's okay, it's a science experiment (it's also a little bit of an execution...) only guess what! not all humanity died off 100 years ago!! and the survivors are Not Thrilled about the new sky people dropping in. clarke becomes one of the defacto leaders of this rag tag teenage army, nothing goes to plan EVER, and she earns the super swanky nickname Commander Of Death because she does a few war crimes in the name of protecting her people. it's a... fun show.

also every adult who commits even a minor infraction is automatically sentenced to death. so like, at least the delinquents got a chance; they were all set for their crimes to be reviewed at 18, and plenty probably would have been proper executed via sucked out of an airlock if they couldn't positively contribute to the ark. yaaaay, utilitarianism!
