⏵ March State of the Game and Arrivals ⏴

Hello and welcome to Etraya!

We were very excited to see all the players interested in our new game when we put up our interest check, and are glad to have you guys join us! Thank you for applying to join Etraya and giving our game a chance. At this point, we have 35 Characters who have applied in for our first round. Given that applications do not close until 3PM PST today, there is still time to get in any last-minute applications!

As a heads up, we have updated our FAQ to reflect that mod posts, including mission posts and OOC intros, will be posted at or before 3PM PST on the day they are meant to go up. We don't want to give ourselves a strict time, given we appreciate having the flexibility to make last-minute changes as needed to suit our player base, but do promise we will get them up by 3PM PST.

We'll be updating our LOCATIONS page over the next week with additional places based on those who applied and were accepted; if there's any location you would like to see in particular, please feel free to use the provided form so we can get it added! Additionally, please check out our CALENDAR noting the dates of the upcoming mission and Activity Check due dates. For new characters, activity is simply responding to the ACTIVITY CHECK page using the formatting provided. Those who have not completed this by the day AC closes will be removed from the game.

⏵ OOC INTRO ⏴

Please use the below form to introduce yourselves (or don't, we're not cops, introduce yourself how you want) and let us know of any upcoming plans you're looking forward to in game! We also have a mod comment HERE that you can use to ask us mods anything about our upcoming plans, add suggestions, or anything of the like.

I'm also canonblind to Clarke here but when I saw her grimly pilfering hospital supplies I was super intrigued, I just psyched myself out about tagging in so this is great to hear! Yes, I'd love to toss them together, I get the sense they'll either cooperate swimmingly or Clarke will want to punt him into the temperature wrecking river. Or both! That's an effect he tends to have on people.

Oh my goodness, same hat! Got real deep in the TDM, even made a list of all the people I wanted to tag, then chickened out like "oh, they've got too many tag ins, don't wanna overwhelm". BUT, still hyped and honestly so excited you're also hype!

And yes, 100% to your deduction of how this could go! And cannot wait to see how it actually unfolds when we get to threading 👀

(i'll also toss a quick copy-paste canon recap here for you: 100 years after earth was destroyed by nuclear weapons, a couple thousand people are living on a failing space ship. to conserve oxygen they send 100 juvenile delinquents down to earth to see if it's habitable. it's okay, it's a science experiment (it's also a little bit of an execution...) only guess what! not all humanity died off 100 years ago!! and the survivors are Not Thrilled about the new sky people dropping in. clarke becomes one of the defacto leaders of this rag tag teenage army, nothing goes to plan EVER, and she earns the super swanky nickname Commander Of Death because she does a few war crimes in the name of protecting her people. it's a... fun show.)

Oh. Yeah I think they might have a few things they could talk about l m a o.

Brief Worm recap as it relates to Krouse: he was a member of a high school e-sports team that got isekai'd into a parallel Earth full of superpowers, he made a lot of Big Choices in the immediate aftermath to try to save his team captain/girlfriend + keep the rest of the team alive and not in Interdimensional Intruder detention, those choices all had hideous consequences (like giving them all superpowers themselves), and he ended up the new team leader by virtue of being the one most willing to make the hard calls in the process of trying to get them home. All of his choices kept having new, even worse hideous consequences, and eventually it ended incredibly badly for everyone involved.

Super fun to be a teenager committing acts of terrible violence as the weight of responsibility and failure slowly crushes you, am I right. What a fun thing to be potentially able to bond over.

"All of his choices kept having new, even worse hideous consequences, and eventually it ended incredibly badly for everyone involved." oh wow, so they really out here with the same character arc, just different fonts

I love it, and thus my excitement to thread together increases ten-fold. Like, I coulda written that last little bit myself!! And what kind of bonding will that be? Could range from "you ever look into a mirror and see your own rage projected back at you" (positive) or "you ever look into a mirror and see your own rage projected back at you..." (negative)

Funnily enough Krouse wouldn't describe himself as a particularly angry person but that's only because he subliminates it into scary ruthless focus instead of more overt lashing out, which means all the violence he gets involved in is actually way more fine if you think about it because he's 100% in control of what he's doing. That's definitely not 'still just as bad'.

He's coming into the game even more angry in a sort of reckless self-destructive way so long story short, yes. Mirroring. And quite possibly of both varieties!
