⏵ March State of the Game and Arrivals ⏴ Hello and welcome to Etraya! We were very excited to see all the players interested in our new game when we put up our interest check, and are glad to have you guys join us! Thank you for applying to join Etraya and giving our game a chance. At this point, we have 35 Characters who have applied in for our first round. Given that applications do not close until 3PM PST today, there is still time to get in any last-minute applications! As a heads up, we have updated our FAQ to reflect that mod posts, including mission posts and OOC intros, will be posted at or before 3PM PST on the day they are meant to go up. We don't want to give ourselves a strict time, given we appreciate having the flexibility to make last-minute changes as needed to suit our player base, but do promise we will get them up by 3PM PST. We'll be updating our LOCATIONS page over the next week with additional places based on those who applied and were accepted; if there's any location you would like to see in particular, please feel free to use the provided form so we can get it added! Additionally, please check out our CALENDAR noting the dates of the upcoming mission and Activity Check due dates. For new characters, activity is simply responding to the ACTIVITY CHECK page using the formatting provided. Looking at this and I think these two could have some INTERESTING CR, especially if it involves some variant of 'right, while everyone else gets bogged down in moral quandaries how do we actually handle X situation as efficiently as possible'. Krouse is also hard to get along with because he's sort of just a dick, so he can relate.

YEAH I have a little hashing-out to do with castmates because there's a good chance that Rufus and Krouse will be similar in the whole "not super interested in giving a clear and accurate picture of who I was in my homeworld" idea, but I do think it'd be really funny if they kind of pinged each other in the figurative crowd because they're both the type to dispense with morality if it means getting the job done faster and better. I'm really interested to see what the missions end up being and how it might feed into that, or what opportunities it might present for Complicated Conversations!

An awkward initial sizing up at the threshold of doing something a little less than nice followed by the relief of getting to dispense with having to pretend it's not okay to just throw a brick at a guy sometimes.

It'd be very funny to have them clock that This Guy Isn't Telling the Whole Truth About His Deal and, at least in Krouse's case, just leaving that alone until the inevitable plot driven having to confront it. It's none of his business why Richie Rich is an expert marksman. Maybe it's a country club thing. The important part is he's competent.

Look the only reason it wouldn't be okay to just throw a brick at a guy sometimes is purely for reasons of personal style. It's important not to compromise on your brand!! at least make it a brick stamped with your logo or something

NO NO BUT THE THING IS: Krouse canonically commits so hard to his Bit of being a quippy rakish supervillain it canonically comes off as annoying and off-putting. He wears a top hat to crimes. He had the people who made his costume put a hole in the mask over his mouth so he could smoke without taking it off. If anyone will respect putting yourself wholly into your personal brand, it's this guy.

The coins are very cool and anyone who thinks otherwise just doesn't have flair.

Meeting up pre-missions to compare Tactical Fits because as important as it is to act cool and confident, it's almost equally important to look cool and confident, and then people standing off to the side are like ARE YOU TWO FOR REAL RIGHT NOW but that's the cry of the hater, and so it's irrelevant.

i just had to go check his app and: there is a twelve-year age disparity between these two people. at least krouse has the excuse of being 18 about it. this man is 30-ass years old and STILL ACTING LIKE THIS

Krouse like, good to know getting older wouldn't mean necessarily becoming a square. Will this make either of them reflect on anything? I'm going to hazard a guess: almost definitely not.
