We hope you enjoy the Halloweeny mingle log that is going up alongside this post. 🎃 As a heads up: headmod will take a bit of a break through November due to life getting busy elsewhere! However, the mission, TDM, and everything else will go up as scheduled. Mod responses may be a little slower (as they have been through October also due to how unexpectedly busy it's been, our bad!) but outside of that, everything should still be running as usual! November is a mission month, but it will be a little more light-hearted in comparison to the previous mission! Using the feedback we received on our last post, we will be condensing the amount of time missions run down to one to two weeks, but will keep our schedule otherwise the same as it has been. This should, hopefully, give players time to complete their mission threads while also leaving plenty of space for characters to get into shenanigans around Etraya itself. ABOUT YOU: Right now I just play from Person of Interest and Avatar: the Last Airbender, because apparently I only care about 10+ year old canons. I live in EST time zone with an extremely old person sleep schedule, I'm sorry. I'm an avid reader and horror fan, and sometimes I convince myself to cook or knit something. CHARACTER: Harold Finch from Person of Interest
CHARACTER INFO: Harold is a very smart computer guy who made his world's first super A.I. At home he is a reclusive eccentric billionaire genius with many different identities, all named after birds. He is super mysterious and hates giving out personal information about himself. If you pay attention, though, you can realize he likes to wear suits, drink tea, walk his dog, hack the Pentagon, and save lives. He has massive survivor's guilt and secretly is staunchly moral and incredibly thoughtful. Harold: could've been a supervillain, instead is a cinnamon roll.

PLOTS YOU'RE INTERESTED IN: Harold is definitely going to be making an alternate network that has security features as his first priority, and I heard someone else has been looking into this as well, so I'd love to plot things out with you!! He's going to need some equipment to get started! Harold and John also immediately heard about the hospital basement computer and would like to track it down and edit or destroy their records, or destroy the terminal entirely, whichever is possible, so I also need to follow up further with Marie and Isabella on that one.

For everyone else: Harold is super nerd tech support and absolutely useless in physical combat situations (he has a spinal injury that means he has mobility issues). Also, he really dislikes violence. However, he is an absolutely excellent voice-in-the-ear mission coordinator / handler and he can certainly perform that role for several people at a time, beyond John, his poorly socialized guard dog.

Edit -- Oh yeah, he may also make an in-character social networking site on the second network, purely to try to get people to spill information about themselves. Let me know if anyone thinks this would be fun or if it's not an aspect anyone else is interested in, LOL.

CHARACTER INFO: Manny may seem like a no-nonsense, reserved creature that has little tolerance for anything out of the ordinary and may come off as being rather harsh. But at the same time, he’s also compassionate around those whom he looks out for and has a strong love for his family and friends.

PLOTS YOU'RE INTERESTED IN: As long as it doesn’t involve Manny in anything related to ships/smut, I’m open to all sorts of missions. It’s practically the norm for Manny to get into all sorts of weird adventures, given his canon. CHARACTER: John Reese from Person of Interest
CHARACTER INFO: John is an ex-CIA assassin/spy who was given a second chance by very private person Harold Finch and now saves (or stops) people in danger. This involves a lot of sneaking around, hacking phones, and shooting people in the legs or occasionally shoulders. John loves to not give out any information on himself, hold people at arms length, clean his guns, and do his job. He has a rather poor opinion of himself and has essentially made saving people his life's purpose now. He is very slow to trust people but will also just sacrifice himself to protect people, so /shrugs.

PLOTS YOU'RE INTERESTED IN: John will be working with Harold in all things, as he is Harold's, quote "poorly socialized guard dog." Harold is planning on making a private network and they're both invested in the hospital basement computer so John will be helping where he can despite having little to no technical skills. John is primarily interested in learning as much as possible about Etraya and trying to unravel the mysteries of this place. He'll likely also be stalking people who interact with Harold in some capacity, because aforementioned "guard dog."

CHARACTER: wanda maximoff, marvel cinematic universe edition; her canon point is post-dr. strange in the multiverse of madness
CHARACTER INFO: have you ever wondered what would happen if you combined childhood trauma, an obsession with television sitcoms and a penchant for escapism to deal with said trauma, a continual conga line of grief that keeps moving past childhood, and magic so strong it can remake reality? look no further than this witch! wanda's had a very hard life, which has been made even more complicated by the fact that she's arguably one of the most powerful magic users in her universe. ultimately, she has a good heart and wants to help, but it can be especially hard for her to control her powers in states of emotional distress. she's also grieving the losses of pretty much everyone she's ever loved, so it may take some time for her to fully open up to others — but she's got a lot to give, and as she heals more, that will come through more and more.

PLOTS YOU'RE INTERESTED IN: at the current time, wanda feels like she has much to atone for, especially her actions in wandavision and multiverse of madness — so she'd leap at the chance to try to be a "good representative" for her universe. ultimately, though, she will be interested in what's going on outside of missions; she'll want to know how and why they got here, what's outside of the bubble, etc. eventually, she may even start to test the boundaries — which can totally end well for everyone involved, right? those are just some ideas coming from me spitballing as of right now, so i'm also open to seeing how things evolve and what sorts of shenanigans we might get into!

CHARACTER INFO: A half-elf shunned by his father along with his twin sister Vex'ahlia, Vax and Vex joined the adventuring group Vox Machina and became protectors of the realm. After engaging in a contract with the Matron of Ravens (the goddess of death), Vax serves as her loyal champion and wears her vestige, the armor called the Deathwalker's Ward. He's taken from the end of Season 2. His full app and powers list is in his journal.
PLOTS YOU'RE INTERESTED IN: I love horror elements but am really just happy to enjoy this character in a game. He can get into just about anything from dark to light-hearted stuff.

ABOUT YOU: still deep into supernatural and in the middle of playing disco elysium. finished mouthwashing recently, and as ever i'm watching outer wilds LPs. i'm very excited for subnautica 2!

CHARACTER: castiel! technically i'm not new since i did have endverse cas here before, but i dropped him to swap him out for the og. cas is from season 5 of spn, just after having his faith destroyed, so he's really going thru it rn, though it might not always be obvious to the casual observer.
CHARACTER INFO: cas is an angel inhabiting a human vessel. he's fairly taciturn, but he also has no filter whatsoever. he can be kind of an asshole, but he means well. i brought him in from an earlier canon point as i like to play him when he's at his most inhuman. :)
PLOTS YOU'RE INTERESTED IN: i was drawn here by the unique events (like the stuffed animals event and the family unit event... those are really fun ideas and i'm sad i waited so long to app that i missed out on them!) so really, i'm down for anything. i always love some horror flavor too, and i'd love to get involved in some echo-related plot.

ABOUT YOU: I've been out of dwrp for quite a long time and recently came back after I got an itch to play again. Currently in my DC era that started with Arkham Knight. I've been consuming a lot of other DC media lately (mostly batman). Am otherwise mostly into video games. I'm in EST and work during the day so tend to get to tags in the evenings. I'm off on Mondays so I'm usually available all day. I'm cool with prose or brackets, though I tend to get back to bracket tags a bit faster than prose.

CHARACTER: My absolute favorite version of Superman: Hernan Guerra from Justice League: Gods and Monsters
CHARACTER INFO: Hernan is the son of Dru-Zod and Lara, rocketed to earth after Krypton's destruction. He was raised by a migrant couple and did not have the best of childhoods. He later teams up with Wonder Woman and Batman to form the Justice League. A lot of people do not like the league because they kill criminals and generally think themselves above the law. He's flirty and loves a good time though!

PLOTS YOU'RE INTERESTED IN: At his canon point, Hernan's facing a bit of a crisis. He lived a long time believing his bio dad was some kind brilliant scientist/hero and has recently discovered that Zod was actually responsible for Krypton's destruction. He doesn't feel responsible for Zod or his mistakes, but it is making him question his approach to heroics. So would love to explore that a little more thoroughly than the canon does. He's also just found out the government can kill him now so there's that. He'll take on just about any mission given to him since that's his bread and butter and will be interested in figuring out the mystery behind the plot.

CHARACTER INFO: Luffy is the rambunctious leader of the Straw Hat Pirates who refuses to consider himself a hero even though he very much is one to a lot of people. He WILL be King of the Pirates and is currently a reigning prince of chaos. He has a heart of gold when it comes to people's causes and helping them have freedom to live (because he's a pirate and pirates are free). He's coming from a canon point where his crew is split up and he's trying to rescue one of them...so he's very much not happy about being here right now. Still, if he can not only gain favor for his world but help your character save theirs too? He's in. Come make him a friend.

CHARACTER: This is 6 from Reverse: 1999
CHARACTER INFO: Coming from the ancient Greek year of 2007, 6 is as much of a quiet introvert as you can get. Unfortunately for him, he comes from a line of leaders on the island he's from, so he got stuck doing bureaucratics for them instead of counting steps on the beach as he deserves to do. They practice Pythagoreanism, which has a lot of fun rules like "touch not a white rooster", "do not pick up what has fallen", and most important of all: "abstain from beans". He can turn into a bird too... He'll probably be settling in somewhere together with 37, but other than that I'm winging it and excited to see what everyone is up to. Let me know if you'd like me to toss him your way!

They're both introverted knowledge guys from leadership/noble backgrounds forced into doing things and bureaucracy.Though this incarnation of Lin is by far the most active: Guilt and personal affection can sometimes get him to do things. Still, his primary hobbies are research and napping.

ABOUT YOU: Aside from the obvious (Reverse: 1999), there's Identity V, Pokemon, Hello Charlotte, I've been getting into Cult of the Lamb lately, and I really like Fear&Hunger as well as Spirit Hunter: NG+. Fate/GO is also there, but I only open that when I have 30 quartz to roll and then close it for like 70 more years... anyway! My tag speed is pretty moderate, I can do a bit of boomeranging if time allows it, but I tend to be pretty consistent!

CHARACTER: 37 | Reverse: 1999
CHARACTER INFO: From a closed off island in the middle of the Aegean Sea in the year 2007 is where you'll meet a priestess named 37. A young arcanist who doesn't care for silly phonetic symbols and is bit of a mathhead, like, she's a big mathhead as she can see the world in both numbers and shapes which helps her navigate through life. I can't lie, she comes off pretty rude towards people, but it's not because she dislikes anyone, it's her understanding of the world prevents her from actually understanding people. Arcanists are individuals who are sort of intuitive, and humans don't tend to understand them easily. They're also pretty emotional. Anyway, 37 thinks she's always right, pretty annoying and is very much a handful. Godspeed for anyone that deals with her. As for what she's up to now, she'll be staying with 6, and she will go out to bother people because there's so many number types to talk to :)

Fun facts if anyone's interested: (1) While 37 is able to see the world in both numbers and shapes, her funny little skill allows her to see numbers in people. On the TDM, I refrained from anything too solid: Imaginary Numbers, Irrational Numbers, Fractions. These sorts of labels are given out like a personality test, but she can actually find a meaningful number for your character. (2) She's able to turn into a dolphin which is called her Udimo.

PLOTS YOU'RE INTERESTED IN: I love a little of everything, but I'm a girl who loves horror and mystery, but I guess for someone like 37 it would be why they're here so the Echo lore. She wants to learn about the echo because maybe it could help her learn how to help her world back home. 37 believes that everything before them is just a shadow and that they're all prisoners in a cave, and if they make it to the Transcendental World that they can truly see the world for what it is— she's that type of girl, she's been in the cave and that her stepping into the outside world is stepping out of the cave instead too.

▸ heather comes across as your typical teenager, a bit rough around the edges, very human and real with imperfections and flaws, written to be rather relatable. however she comes from a dark and troubling past, and has reincarnated twice now due to events involving the order, cult of silent hill. as she stands now, she just wants a normal life and has a level headed understanding of how her trauma and pain aren’t meant to be used against others/it shouldn’t get her down. she was brought here to feel happiness and joy (literally on the game’s ost, it’s a great song!)

CHARACTER INFO: My boy here is a teacher, and maybe, if you get enough info out of him, in the military. He looks like he's serious, but I can assure you, he's very casual and everyone's Dad back home. Overall, a pretty good guy with not many things bugging him. He's good for a therapist, if you need it, and also a pretty good fighter, if you need that too. But he's a bit of a glass cannon so keep him in the back.
PLOTS YOU'RE INTERESTED IN: THE SOFT FLUFFY MISSIONS because he likes the light hearted things tbh. He's a bit traumatized from his world giving him the world's shittiest missions so he'll be happy to take the happier stuff. Although, he'll also be good for horror and mystery. Not really a detective of sorts, but he's seen some stuff and I'd like to traumatize him some more thanks.

CHARACTER: chrollo lucilfer, the villain of hxh as the leader of the phantom troupe.
CHARACTER INFO: well! giving the least spoilers possible and as tldr i can be, chrollo hails from meteor city, a town of 8-10 million people that doesn't exist to the world at large. they aren't documented in any shape or form, most people in the world don't know it even exists, and it's a trash dumping site for the world's nations, and it's a-real bad. as a result, chrollo and his friends became an entity known as the phantom troupe/the spider, the worst people ever, very murderous, very stealing, not at all mindful - please check his opt-out and feel free to do so!

chrollo himself is very calm, collected, unshakable, and intellectual, but he is acting a lot of the time. he has outstanding acting skills and is taking the role of an academic to blend in and get intel more easily. his entire identity is the spider, and being far from them doesn't keep him from being part of it, so expect the mask to fall off eventually... even though he has a bunch of identity crises as to who he has become and who he is at this point. also fun.

also last but not least, for a while, he's going to be wearing a bandana around his forehead to hide the tattoo. it's a thing.
PLOTS YOU'RE INTERESTED IN: literally all of the things that were listed in this section! i also would like to explore themes of cycles, identity, and loss... and also i wanna try and see what he can do in the setting, even if his powers are limited, there's still a lot he can play with.

ABOUT YOU: i'm in the EST timezone and try to hit things back at least a few times away even if i can't quite boomerang! fandom-wise i like horror media (movies and television; alien, scream, yellowjackets, radio silence and mike flanagan's works are some favorites) and i feel like i've had a lot of thoughts on it this year, but more favorites are dark angel, marvel, stars trek and wars, and back to the future. i tend to post my thoughts on whatever i've watched/am watching and my favorite characters/the ones i tend to play are either the ones everyone loves or the ones everyone hates/doesn't care about, there's no inbetween.

CHARACTER: sam carpenter from the scream movies, coming in from post-movie!
CHARACTER INFO: trying to summarize as best i can without many spoilers: sam was introduced in scream 5 as the illegitimate/secret daughter of billy loomis, one of the murderers from the original massacre in woodsboro (detailed here). when she was thirteen she discovered her parentage and her father left the family when she confronted her mother about it; after this her mother blamed her for breaking up the family. she coped with drugs and eventually left town at the age of 20, reluctantly leaving her sister behind. an attack on her sister tara lead her back to woodsboro as it turned out she was targeted because of sam's connection to billy, which the people behind the murders were going to exploit to frame her as the murderer.

some time later, tara's graduated and moved to new york with her friends chad and mindy and sam's followed as their mother's been cut off from contact. murders start up again and sam's considered a chief suspect, especially after rumors spread about her being the killer in the last woodsboro attack. she's coming in right after surviving the attack along with her sister and eliminating the killers.

history aside, sam's spent a lot of time lately trying to both come to terms with what's happened to her and move forward with her life and atone for the mistakes she's made in her past, especially with tara. she's seen attending therapy and taking medication in order to combat her mental illness and it's mentioned she had previous problems with drug addiction and delinquency. she is, essentially, someone who is trying to cope with her trauma and use it to be better.

PLOTS YOU'RE INTERESTED IN: she's going to be wary and anxious about how things were left off, even knowing she, her sister, and their friends have survived. she's likely to throw herself into missions for the distraction and figure of what other kind of people have been pulled into this and if there's a pattern.

CHARACTER: Osamu Dazai, Bungo Stray Dogs
CHARACTER INFO: Dazai is a hot mess of an ex-mafioso who now works at a detective agency to save lives instead, in honor of his dying friend's last wishes. He's a troll and a flirt and acts like someone who doesn't take anything seriously, when he's actually thinking about everything at a million miles an hour all the time. PLEASE NOTE: This character is pretty much a walking trigger warning for content associated with suicide and suicidal ideation. I have an opt out here if you need to avoid some of his content or tagging him altogether.

PLOTS YOU'RE INTERESTED IN: One of the main things I'm interested in is playing with Dazai's perspective on the question of what it even means to defend the existence of his universe and go red string conspiracy board thinking on why each individual was chosen as their universe’s representatives. I could see some really interesting cr in the consideration of what echo is actually looking for. Is it about what they have or what they lack? Are they supposed to learn something or teach something? Are they looking for what lines you won’t cross or what lines you will? He's going to be taking mental notes about Everything as the mission commences.
