Our December plans mod-wise are fairly minimal - we have our intro/mingle log going up later this evening (with a surprise twist!) and then another intro log going up December 20th, but no other mod logs planned between then. We will use this time to focus on individual player plots (so please submit those if you'd like!) and catch up with other mod work, such as the locations page. In the meantime, we hope you all have a nice holiday season! CHARACTER: Will Graham | Hannibal (NBC)

CHARACTER INFO: Will is definitely an introvert who would benefit from being adopted! He is taken from the cliff dive of s3, so he's not as twitchy or outwardly unstable as he is shown in s1. He is accepting of his monster, and he is accepting of his soul deep entanglement with Hannibal. He will be pretty careful about his "person suit", isn't looking to start anything, but he also won't be trying to interfere with Hannibal's fun. Though he may try to distract Hannibal from Hanniballing, but he won't be as aggressive about bringing Hannibal to justice, the way he was in s2.

PLOTS YOU'RE INTERESTED IN: I like to let plots/CR happen as organically as possible. I'm pretty open to anything, BUT I am not looking to write negative CR that is just negative CR with no plot purpose, or resolution plan. If is part of a plot, or a specific goal, let's discuss! But character's who are rude, just to be rude, will get a door in the face. It's Hannibal canon that this is the way Will deals with people who he finds minorly annoying.

ABOUT YOU: Hello, all! I like comic books a lot and I'm [ironically] very much into DC. Because I'm school and currently working, I'm more in my boomerang era since I like the ability to shoot off quick replies when I'm able to sit down to. Weekends are best for me wrt tagging, but sometimes I spend those days being irresposible (by which I play Magic the Gathering for five hours straight), so my tagging schedule is really just spaghetti noodles.

CHARACTER: I bring to you Eddie Brock from the Venom movies along with his boyfriend best friend, Venom. Technically, they aren't MCU, but I'm counting them to make everyone's lives easier.
CHARACTER INFO: Venom is loud and rowdy. Eddie does not want to be percieved. They are in love and it is very healthy.

Eddie is very much here to adopt others, though! I'm a sucker for found family, so I'd love to see him look out for others and let Eddie and Venom really be on their Dad Energy. Eddie's also just sort of nice guy and a good listener most of the time, so he'll be really interested in learning about where everyone is coming from and how their worlds differ. Venom is also curious, but he also might get bored and suggest murder instead.

PLOTS YOU'RE INTERESTED IN: I like horror, fluff that gives Eddie the chance for Eddie to bond with others. Venom can be pretty antagonist at first pass, but he'll get over that initial urge to kill you in, like, five minutes.

CHARACTER: Brandon Carver | The Walking Dead
CHARACTER INFO: Former soldier turned mercenary turned post apocalyptic death cultist. Carver’s fresh off getting himself and a whole lot of his friends brutally murdered because he couldn’t chill for ten seconds during hostage negotiations. He’s going to be handling that ~super well~ In general, Carver is a giant ball of violent paranoia and strange religious mania that swings toward murder at the best and worst of times. The dude is visibly Not Well and is going to be struggling with the sudden availability of food, electricity, and clean water. I’d love for him to run into people who will either a) notice that something’s deeply wrong with him b) not notice so shenanigans can ensure or c) try to exploit said wrongness. He’s decent with children but will be uncomfortable around teenagers and anyone who tries to touch him or his food will probably end up stabbed (sorry). His priorities are a bit whacky but he’s excellent in tense situations and looking forward to missions. However, he could use some people to rein him in and remind him to act marginally less feral outside of combat. He does have some darker elements involving torture, violence, and cult dynamics, so feel free to opt out if needed.

As a note, Carver was in game briefly a few months ago. He will not remember this, but feel free to have your characters recognize him!

ABOUT YOU: Lies of P has been my main fandom for a year now, which led to me finally playing Detroit: Become Human — and here we are! Also really into the Thaumaturge; Wiktor Szulski my beloved. (All three games initially appealed to me for the same reason. 😂 I have a very specific type, apparently.)

I was here for Etraya’s first TDM but couldn’t choose who to app (the woes of playing ten-thousand characters). I ended up taking an RP break soon after, then just started fully transitioning back in late October. I’ve been in two games before but I still feel pretty new, and I’ve also never played in a game with missions quite like this so it’ll be a fun learning experience (if I royally screw up just blame it ICly on Hank, it’s fine).

I like to boomerang around midnight PST/PDT because I am chaotic like that. I mostly RP on my phone (autocorrect is useful but occasionally very embarrassing, changing “cheeks” to “cheese” — luckily I caught this before I posted the tag).

CHARACTER: Hank Anderson from Detroit: Become Human!

CHARACTER INFO: I’m playing Hank post-peaceful ending of his canon, but he still has a lot of growing to do. I have more content warnings on my permissions post here, but he has issues with alcoholism and suicide ideation. His life has changed for the better — or it was, before he got here? — but healing for him will absolutely be a process. Hank basically wants everyone to leave him alone so he can sit at home with his dog.

On stuff I’m looking for with Hank: I love the arduous sort of slow burn as he eventually learns to care about another character (and be protective of them!). Negative CR is also fun, whether it’s because the other character is fed up with Hank’s stubbornness or something deeper. Feel free to push his buttons! Also would love any sort of CR where the other character annoys Hank but he still cares about them a lot.

The death mechanic here also sounds really interesting, and I would love for Hank to die at some point (losing precious memories... I will weep).

In general though if you ever think “wow I would like to explore this thing/topic/etc with Hank,” I would love to hear about it. I love having goals too, e.g. “let’s work up to being friends, then my character betrays Hank” (sorry, Hank).

PLOTS YOU'RE INTERESTED IN: I love horror! Also characters kind of being forced to work together to achieve a goal (even if that goal is just surviving/not wringing each other’s necks), and this works fun with horror elements, e.g. locked room/solve the mystery to escape, etc.

OTHER: I was trying to think of fun gifs for my inbox, so I made this with the model swap mod (Sumo my beloved). Hank’s model is too tall to properly pet Sumo. 😱

ABOUT YOU: My most prevalent and longest-term love is critically-acclaimed MMORPG Final Fantasy XIV, but I’m also big into D&D, Dropout media (I see you there, Fantasy High cast), and a smattering of animanga and video games. I’m currently neck-deep in the new Dragon Age and have been quite enjoying it! I work reception and permit processing for my day job and it’s very much feast or famine, so my most active times are usually right smack in the middle of the work day. I tend toward snappy, boomerang-y tags but if the spirit takes me I can pump out a small novel. I try to touch tags when I can on the weekend but no promises as that’s when I’m usually busiest!

CHARACTER: Ivan Niklaus // Original
CHARACTER INFO: The elevator pitch: A ye old wizard turns to Necromancy to save his dying wife, but commits crimes against the natural order so great he’s stuck doing community service for Death as a grim reaper, unable to die until his debt is repaid.

Still kicking around some 600 years later, Ivan is a quiet, perpetually tired-looking man who definitely gives off weird, deathy vibes to anyone sensitive to that kind of thing. He’s a bit taciturn and a little weird, but kind when it counts… though being unable to die does him no favors in terms of self-preservation. This man has more baggage than a luggage store and is so, so bad at dealing with it.

CHARACTER: James Sunderland (Silent Hill 2)

CHARACTER INFO: I'm playing James, AKA that guy who did absolutely nothing wrong. I'm taking him from one of the endings from the remake (Stillness), so he's still [redacted] after [redacted].

On a more informative note, he's just a Normie who visited a town that warped into hell and fed into his delusions, guilt, and anxieties while he was just looking for his wife. He's from the entry that has that Pyramid Head guy. Over all, it was not a fun time.

But he's here now! And he's tired and a little self-hating bUT SURELY IT'S OKAY, it's time for him to make new friends(?) and see where Etraya life takes him. James is mostly quiet and kinda introverted; he's described as "surly" and rarely smiling, though the truth is that he's friendly once you get to know him. Kind of in that vaguely awkward way. I reiterate that he is a Normie but by horror protag standards: still really resilient and stronger than he looks, surprisingly good with a firearm, beats up monsters with a pipe.

Ultimately, he's sad and wet and needs friends, please be his friend.

PLOTS YOU'RE INTERESTED IN: James is the perfect character for horror elements both big and small, but I'll also give everyone the cop-out newbie answer: I want everything. He needs to get his footing first and foremost, so I'm here for throwing him into all sorts of situations.

Till, from the series Alien Stage - a south korean indie animation series that's about 30 minutes long in total right now, and ongoing. Each episode is a music video with extremely dense, lore rich storytelling and supplementary material from artbooks, the creator's patreon, etc.

CHARACTER INFO:
Till is a soft-hearted and rebellious punk. He's an artistic genius, who almost compulsively creates. Right now, he's only familiar with drawing, composing, playing guitar (and a couple other instruments), and singing. He'll probably be looking to expand his talents. He's incompetent with anything else, though. He's sensitive, crass, and volatile. He's also from a world where humans only exist as pets to alien life; Earth is destroyed and a vestigial memory. Because of this, Till is pretty sheltered and ignorant—he refers to his own mother as his "provider," and he her "creation," and the children of his schoolyear don't even know about lip kissing lol. And humans don't tend to live past 30 in captivity. So he's probably going to seem kind of like an alien to other humans in many ways, RIP. He's VERY!!! invested in his identity as a human, though! He will want to know everything about everything about being human from the perspective of humans different than him.

As for player plots, pretty much anything. Till is rude from poor socialization and having a touchy temper from being a sensitive baby with a lot of trauma, but he's got a soft heart and a lot of love to give for those who can look past it. I'm for pretty much any kind of CR. If you're unsure of the vibe/direction or want to plot, feel free to hit me up. Till's an ambivert, he's just rude with crippling social anxiety.

He found out his Ventrexian dad turbo fucked up recently and lied to him his whole life, so he has even more reason to want to learn about stuff from his human dad's sphere.

That aside he is extremely easy to befriend, just don't try to fight him and he will happily believe almost everything you say. (If you do try to fight him, be warned that he is comical levels of stupid strong.)

CHARACTER INFO: in short: Shelley is a hard on his luck private investigator who is into the outdoors and bad with people... Including taking care of himself. This has led to him accidentally becoming estranged from the people he cares about bc he struggles with a lack of self worth-- and now he's in a position where he has to take better care of himself while helping a young woman solve a murder.

Unfortunately-- his lack of ability to properly care for himself has left him with a chronic illness, a lot of stress, and a weird little ghost who insists that she just wants to help. How is he supposed to help a nature spirit learn how to be human when he can't even remember to have more than coffee for breakfast?

PLOTS YOU'RE INTERESTED IN: Chaos. Shelley is such a disaster that he doesn't even believe that he is even worthy of being the one who is supposed to save his universe. He just wants to make it through the day and get back to the actual teenager girls he accidentally left with a violent narcissist.

Please. Bully him, drag him places, make him be active. He's very suspicious of the robots but honestly? Life is crazy enough, what's one more problem?

I've also put too many hours into Balatro lately and will often be playing it while tagging. I work at an elementary school so my tagging is limited to weekends/ after school hours. I'll backtag to infinity though!

CHARACTER: Yukichi Fukuzawa, from Bungo Stray Dogs (specifically the manga)
CHARACTER INFO: Fukuzawa (yeah, he goes by his last name most of the time) is basically the Big Good of Bungo Stray Dogs. He's the head of the Armed Detective Agency, the moral center of most of the main cast, and the one who leads his detectives in an effort to protect Yokohama. He's physically strong, a great leader, and very perceptive on top of that. But he's also extremely an introvert and actually doesn't like big groups. PLOTS YOU'RE INTERESTED IN: Honestly all of this sounds amazing and I'm excited to try it out. Fukuzawa is going to be in the hospital at the start (he's from the end of chapter 113, IYKYK), but once he's had time to really process everything he will immediately take up arms to save not just his world, but as many worlds as he can. CHARACTER: Tommy Shepherd, Marvel Comics
CHARACTER INFO: Tommy doesn't enter a room. Tommy takes it over. If you're going to get people to treat them the way you want to, you have to bring your A game. Note that that's "treat", not like. He'll go to his grave swearing he doesn't give a shit if you like him. But you have to earn him liking you.

Getting along with Tommy takes a certain personality. He's loud, rash and impatient. He has little filter and generally tells people exactly what he thinks. If it's negative, there's often no effort made to cushion the blow. He is moody and surly if prodded about his own faults or challenged. He always has an excuse or chip on his shoulder, because he’s aware enough to try to work the angles in his favour. If he had a shitty childhood, he might as well make it useful. It’s part of his overall brand of pragmatic cynicism. If he’s the one playing the sympathy card, then any sympathy can’t hurt him.

He doesn’t turn into cotton candy once someone has known him long enough to for him to trust them and care about them. It’s more like “you dumbass, of course I like you. We’re cool.” He likes to hang out with interesting young people, go to clubs, break a few minor rules, etc. He’s bitchy in a fun way, snarky, and free-spirited. He doesn’t outwardly pay much heed to what people think about him, or else he’d probably be less willing to wear avant-garde suits and dance in public.

OTHER: Since an MCU Billy (his twin brother) is here, I found an old PB I've used for him in the past. I won't be changing his icons from the comics, but we've decided that the overall impression should be that they're absolutely recognizable as related, possibly even as brothers, but Tommy's not just a white-haired, green-eyed Joe Locke. So they're not identical.

CHARACTER: William Kaplan/Billy Maximoff (it's complicated, stay tuned), Marvel Cinematic Universe
CHARACTER INFO: William is friendly, sociable, and without a doubt filled with a certain amount of awkward anxiety (but who isn't). A boy who's parents have supported him in every way, in a lot of ways he's comfortable in who he is which if he were to identify it would be something along the lines of a : goth Jewish gay witch. All of them are important. And he likes that identity, but he's also a little more complicated than that... Because he's not William Kaplan, not entirely. He's Billy Maximoff and these two interconnecting pieces are a puzzle he hasn't quite figured out yet. A good kid with a well-meaning heart, he has the same question you do: Who is William Kaplan?

OBVIOUSLY. AAA is super new so he may contain spoilers (he's from episode 6) but a lot of his personal backstory is pulled from the comics so please let me know if you'd rather avoid it! He is also a telepath that will... grow with capability in time in the game/or when he's eventually canon updated. I'll be putting up a permissions post for that soon!

I'm into comics, animation, and the usual genre hodge podge of sci fi, fantasy, and horror. Big fan of Star Trek (love Lower Decks rn), LotR, Final Space, Love Death and Robots, Arcane, and sci fi horror like Aliens and the Thing. If you want zombie fiction recs, despite the years of inundation, hmu, I was obsessed for a while.

CHARACTER: Little Cato is from Final Space, a dramedy space adventure about a ragtag crew of misfits facing dire circumstances and constantly failing to stop the end of the universe.
CHARACTER INFO: Little Cato is a Ventrexian, an alien that only coincidentally resembles an Earth cat in many ways. He's rambunctious, thrill-seeking, tough, and sometimes goofy. Despite being a little too murder-happy and inured to violence, he's a mostly good-natured kid, but it's in spite of a lot of suffering due to being the personal hackey sack of an interplanetary dictator for a while, who kept trying to take everything from him. (I have an opt-out for some of the more serious cw's in his journal as the show wasn't shy about stuff like child murder, child abuse, etc.) He also spent 60 years alone in a shard of frozen time, in a slowly rusting decrepit section of his crew's ship. He went entirely insane there.

(He's better now, though.) He's simultaneously 14 and 74. Though he reverted back to a fourteen-year-old mindset and development and reoriented to that place in time, especially since losing it meant he didn't really mature, he still has deeply, deeply repressed memories of 60 years of madness alone.

Basically he's got the energy and sweet nature of a normal kid his age, with a fighty, bitey, slightly ruthless, and sometimes deeply sad and traumatized undercurrent.

I'd like to have him start to mature and come into his own, embracing an acceptance of the darkness that lies ahead in his world even if it survives the challenges in game. And an acceptance of the responsibility that he needs to embrace - he's secretly the rightful king of his planet and his people need to be led out of the dark of their endless warfare and directed at the true enemies of their universe. It seems like a lot of characters in the game have the kind of nature that might help urge that along, and in turn he's got a lot of fierce loyalty, kindness, and a surprising edge of insight sometimes to give in exchange.

Also after a lifetime of being like the "Father, I crave violence" meme and doing a lot of murder, he's trying to be slightly less murder-ey. A friend of his that he lost taught him that being a warrior doesn't have to mean being a killer, and he's recognizing maybe his father - a man who lied to him his whole life - raised him slightly wrong. I'm interested in things that nudge him in either direction: better or worse.
PLOTS YOU'RE INTERESTED IN: I'm interested in horror, mystery, and the main plot with Echo. Little Cato's in a unique position of feeling like his world might be doomed by the narrative no matter what, which would make him not as timid about questioning the nature of the competition. He'd also be curious about the world outside the bubble and if any secrets are to be found there. He's not keen on being imprisoned again - even if it's a cozy open-air one.

CHARACTER INFO: ivan comes across as sort of withdrawn, especially when not putting on a personality. he's an expert at masking and learned to do so to protect himself in his world. the personality he's adopted for himself leads people who don't look too closely to see him as mature and a little mysterious, and his fandom considers him "handsome, gentle and professional." basically, he'll adapt whatever personality he needs to in order to get by. his "guardians" report him as being slow to emotionally develop, and so he sometimes struggles with that. in reality, he has a pretty twisted personality due to his upbringing and the world he comes from, where humans are pets to an alien race called segyein. he is also pretty singularly fixated (understatement) on a specific person from his canon, and so while he'd probably accept someone's feelings out of boredom (if they made the mistake of doing so), he'd be pretty much the most absent boyfriend ever. he is also dealing with something re: this person, though, so...

CHARACTER INFO: The brains of the dynamic(?) duo which includes him and Chu Wenshan. He's basically a tsundere pretending to be elegant and untouchable but is actually a petty person who is allergic to emotional vulnerability. He's a doctor and a poison maker and the two go hand in hand. He has pretty good ideas in general except when it comes to his revenge on Chu Wenshan which always is just a little too childish. Would probably stab someone without hesitation if the situation called for it.

CHARACTER: Caitlyn Kiramman from the League of Legends show
CHARACTER INFO: Aristocrat turned detective turned technically-a-felon-but-no-one-can-arrest-her-she's-too-rich who loves guns, conspiracy theories, solving mysteries, getting shoved up against walls by buff women, and proving herself right. She's relatively friendly and outgoing, if a little intense, since once she sets her mind on something nothing in the world (except maybe devastating personal consequences) can stop her. She's the extremely sincere "say what you mean, mean what you say" type, has a lot of unexamined opinions on a world she's barely experienced because she's super sheltered, and is currently brimming with idealistic morality. She's also very British for someone from a world where Britain doesn't exist.

She's from episode 1x08, so no need to worry about s2 spoilers, though I do plan on canon updating her at some point.

CHARACTER INFO: chuuya is one of the port mafia's executives and so he works directly under the boss. he's fueled by emotions and can be hot-headed, loud, and generally rambunctious, but he's a person who's fiercely loyal and cares deeply about other people. also despite being smart, he is also a touch gullible. overall, he's a good guy who likes being around people, he just has pom energy.

he likes hats, fights, booze (and especially wine,) and music, and he is a short king who's insecure about his height.
