⏵ November State of the Game and Arrivals ⏴ Hello, Etrayans! Welcome to almost December! Our December plans mod-wise are fairly minimal - we have our intro/mingle log going up later this evening (with a surprise twist!) and then another intro log going up December 20th, but no other mod logs planned between then. We will use this time to focus on individual player plots (so please submit those if you'd like!) and catch up with other mod work, such as the locations page. In the meantime, we hope you all have a nice holiday season! Our next feedback post is going up on December 19th - but we welcome feedback throughout the year regardless of if there's a specific post asking for it! If you have any comments, questions, concerns, our Mod Contact page is always open! The feedback post provides a non-screened space for players to communicate with the mod team, and we do our best to respond to concerns brought to us there - as well as respond to suggestions. ABOUT YOU: I'm a digital artist who also dabbles loosely in music. I like to boomerang when my schedule allows me. I'm fine with backtagging, but if I stop tagging a thread, it could be because I've forgotten, or maybe a lot of time's elapsed since the event; just DM me if you want to resume! I also will be using Till's inbox as an overflow. I'm EST. Main fandoms are Yowamushi Pedal, Alien Stage and Hunter x Hunter.

CHARACTER:
Till, from the series Alien Stage - a south korean indie animation series that's about 30 minutes long in total right now, and ongoing. Each episode is a music video with extremely dense, lore rich storytelling and supplementary material from artbooks, the creator's patreon, etc.

CHARACTER INFO:
Till is a soft-hearted and rebellious punk. He's an artistic genius, who almost compulsively creates. Right now, he's only familiar with drawing, composing, playing guitar (and a couple other instruments), and singing. He'll probably be looking to expand his talents. He's incompetent with anything else, though. He's sensitive, crass, and volatile. He's also from a world where humans only exist as pets to alien life; Earth is destroyed and a vestigial memory. Because of this, Till is pretty sheltered and ignorant—he refers to his own mother as his "provider," and he her "creation," and the children of his schoolyear don't even know about lip kissing lol. And humans don't tend to live past 30 in captivity. So he's probably going to seem kind of like an alien to other humans in many ways, RIP. He's VERY!!! invested in his identity as a human, though! He will want to know everything about everything about being human from the perspective of humans different than him.

As for player plots, pretty much anything. Till is rude from poor socialization and having a touchy temper from being a sensitive baby with a lot of trauma, but he's got a soft heart and a lot of love to give for those who can look past it. I'm for pretty much any kind of CR. If you're unsure of the vibe/direction or want to plot, feel free to hit me up. Till's an ambivert, he's just rude with crippling social anxiety.

So I play this little alien guy, from a universe where humans occupy the usual roles alongside other aliens. But! Earth was destroyed there too. (Little Cato's crew couldn't stop it.)

Cato's adoptive dad is human and he'd want to explore human-ey stuff just as much, because he loves what his dad has introduced to him so far. (Like the music of Loggins Kenneth, esp the song about loose feet.) He found out his Ventrexian dad turbo fucked up recently and lied to him his whole life, so he has even more reason to want to learn about stuff from his human dad's sphere.

Maybe they could be buddies in exploring stuff?

oooh! i have… NO idea how till will feel about all that lol! might be fun for him to kind of wrestle with. i’m pretty sure he has no idea what a cat even is, so a ventrexian’s still gonna be foreign enough to him to just register as full alien…and till’s extremely distrustful of non-humans.

maybe! till is more skiddish and homey than the exploring type, but i’m sure they can still have some interesting cross-cultural discoveries together

I definitely figured on maybe cultural stuff? He's already been exposed to Earth music by his dad and loves it and would be the type to just go like "BAM, check this human music out," and share some song or album he found, as well as be interested in Till's music. I think he'd be fascinated by Till's art because art just hasn't been a big part of his life due to a very combat-oriented upbringing.

What'll be interesting about the distrust is Little Cato grew up in a military dictatorship and his father (a general) ran afoul of the dictator by refusing to kill Lil C to show his loyalty. (Cato saw the kids of the other generals all get shot to death around him).

Since his dad wouldn't do it, Cato was captured and imprisoned for 3 years from when he was 11 on and it was...bad. (I have an opt out in his journal for anyone that needs it, but he tends to keep it close to the vest anyway.)

The circumstances are different, but he completely understands distrust because some alien asshole hurt or controlled someone. He'd be gentle with any distrust he notices, even without knowing the cause, because he has a lot of reasons to feel the same sometimes, although different things trigger it.
