ABOUT YOU: As mentioned when I first came into the game as Jason Todd, I've gotten more into comics over the last few years but much of my DC and Marvel knowledge comes from adaptations such as the DCAU and MCU. I'm still quite fond of adaptations even though I'm starting to get more context from the source materials.

In RL, I have a full-time white collar job and there'll be times when I'm slow because of that. I’m in EST. However, threads with me never have an expiration date so I'm always open to backtagging! I'm also open to text, bracket style, and prose-style in RP. I have the most experience with bracket and text. I can always use more practice with prose. In terms of tone, I'm open to both silly and more serious ones.

CHARACTER: Kirk Langstrom AKA Batman from Justice League: Gods and Monsters

CHARACTER INFO: If Kirk's name sounds familiar to you, then it's probably because you normally know him as the tragic giant bat mutant known as Man-Bat. In this DC Elseworld, he was instead transformed into a vampire via science. Also, instead of Bruce Wayne, Kirk is Batman.

Kirk is very much an introvert who needs to be dragged out to be more social. When not on a mission or an investigation, He generally likes to hole himself up in a lab. Sometimes it's for a case he's working on, other times he's making his routine batch of artificial plasma which is his alternate food source, and then there are other times when it's him trying to cure his vampirism.

One of the first things Kirk will be doing in Etraya is finding a lab he can use or making himself a lab. Aurora will provide him artificial plasma but he'll be very suspicious of the generosity and will try to set up his own supply as soon as he can. He also finds Aurora's pitch about saving worlds suspicious and will want to investigate further on just what Etraya really is and try to find a way out.

Kirk is likely to click well with other scientists/scientist-like people! In general he loves science but he's especially an expert in biology, biochemistry, and genomics.

I FULLY encourage extroverts to find a way to bug him and get him out of his shell somehow. Sometimes Kirk keeps things too tight to his chest.

I'm also interested to see if Kirk can make CR with others who might also be struggling with a dark side like he does. Hooray bonding because of traumatic transformations and inner demons!

CHARACTER: Bruce Wayne from Batman Beyond
CHARACTER INFO: After being forced into retirement cause he got old and a heart condition, Bruce became a bitter recluse who lives alone in Wayne Manor with his dog. None of the Batfam visit him because he's kind of a dick and was kind of a dick to them and drove them all away. Then he met Terry McGinnis who became Batman and helped him not be as much of a dick to people. He's coming in after getting a dose of Joker gas for the first time in 40 years during Return of the Joker.

PLOTS YOU'RE INTERESTED IN: He's gonna go back to being a recluse for a while and fully intends to avoid the batfam for as long as possible but I imagine they won't let him DO that for very long. He also has some unresolved feelings about what happened to Tim that will probably need to be addressed at some point. He's pretty good at solving mysteries and collecting evidence and noticing patterns so once he's done brooding, he'll start trying to piece together what's going on. And will also request his dog when I have the points for it.

Man I'd love to toss this little alien guy at him. He's got plucky acrobatic vibes like the Robins, some Tim-like skills at hacking, but also dead parent trauma that led to a path of vengeance for a while. Although it was a lot more gun-toting and murderous and the path Bruce didn't walk down.

His life has been grim at times and he's actually technically 74 years old but most of it was him alone in a time bubble. And he went back to being a teen when he got out. So there's still the teenager but sometimes flashes of someone very old and tired in there.

There's a blend of things where he's like the Robins but would kind of understand where Bruce is at. And he'd like to poke into the truth of the place, too.

CHARACTER: Sameen Shaw from Person of Interest, coworker to John and Harold
CHARACTER INFO: Shaw is currently reeling from the loss of everything she knows and is also very much in mourning... which is also a plus in some ways, because it means she's a free agent in need of a new gig. She's going to be extremely skeptical of this one, but hey, that's how she felt about the last one, and she ended up being ride-or-die for her team.

Interpersonally, Shaw is prickly, deadpan, stoic (genuinely so, not just faking it to look tough), and has a whole host of fun emotional problems. Regardless of what the rest of their personality is like (she's capable of vibing with a surprising range of people), she does best with anyone who has an ability to take her "quirks" in stride. Treat her like a semidomesticated cat (maintain your presence without pushing her too hard, and also don't take it too personally if she hisses sometimes), and you'll probably do okay in the long run.

I've been doing a rewatch of POI recently so this is very exciting for me. Hi! Awesome to see a Shaw out in the wild. I'm Fade and I've got this guy, whose bff/commander/adopted sister is also named Shaw. He's a former mercenary turned death cultist from the zombie apocalypse and is Not Adjusting Well to Etraya. I'd love to toss these two at each other sometime just to see what happens.

ABOUT YOU: I am super deep into FF16 right now, and also Fear and Hunger (obviously). I also play FF14 but have taken a little bit of a break from it. In general I really like Final Fantasy as a whole but also survival horror games (like Silent Hill, Fatal Frame, and so on), ARPGs (like Elden Ring, Bloodborne etc). I love to boomerang, that tends to be the most reliable way to tag for me, but I am also down with backtagging!

CHARACTER: I have dragged Enki Ankarian in from Fear and Hunger and now you all have to deal with him!
CHARACTER INFO: Enki is a Dark Priest who is self-centered, arrogant, and all around disagreeable. He prefers solitude, and if he must have company it is preferable for him if they are of the undead variety. Which is to say he's a necromancer, though he can also communicate with/command bugs. Kinda fitting if you think about. Where there's corpses...there's usually insects, after all. Anyway, he's 29 going on 80 with how much of a grumpy old hag he is, and he's got a mean streak that can metamorphose into a violent streak if one proves themselves too much of a problem.

He will talk down to everyone. He will assume he knows better than them. He will also probably ignore them as much as he can, especially if he is reading.

He isn't much of a team player, he treats interactions as transactional. That's because his whole life has been him being the last one picked for the metaphorical game, and so he's decided to prove that he never needed anyone anyway, and he's grown comfortable with being alone. However, it's done nothing for his personality, or his sense of self-preservation. He looks like he barely eats, barely sleeps, and he absolutely drinks and smokes (it isn't always tobacco in that pipe—) way more than he should, but it's what keeps him sane.

He cares only for knowledge and sating his endless thirst for it. So deep does this thirst run that he plunged himself into hell on earth just to find out more about a prophecy connected to it, a man within the prophecies, and the relevance it held to the gods themselves. He also couldn't let this rando go hang with the gods instead of him, like, c'mon!

He will do a lot for the sake of learning something new, he is unburdened by morals and ethics, and so...let that be its own warning.

With that said, he will have experienced a great deal of the horrors in the dungeons of Fear and Hunger, and so arriving somewhere as seemingly peaceful as Etraya will be...strange. He won't trust anyone, and not only because he's suffered in those dungeons. His upbringing as a cultist, along with what he had to do and the depths he had to climb to prove himself capable of becoming a Dark Priest did not make him a trusting man. The world is bleak, and you can't even trust your own family, why in the world would he trust any of you?

CHARACTER INFO: The Custodian is a robot who's been piloting a dead worldship filled with the bodies of the entire species he was created to safeguard and care about for centuries while surrounded by a dying universe, and driven by one goal, which is to somehow reverse what happened to them after they got entropy-murdered and bring them back to life. He uhhh does not really succeed in this and is very sad about it, though he will tell you very earnestly that it's fine because machines do not feel emotions or anything.

He's basically gone several kinds of weird from being isolated for so long and has absolutely no idea. Despite this he is very polite and is trying his best to do whatever is required of him here, please ignore the tangents he can get stuck on if you bring up things like immortality or black holes or whatever, he got touched by an eldritch horror that lived in the center of his universe and HAS HE PROCESSED THIS? NOT AT ALL.

Please give him friends and people who will like, at least treat him like a person and shit. Or don't, it's up to you. I just want to shake him in a terrarium and see what happens to him really

CHARACTER: Kimie Arashiyama | MARRIAGETOXIN.
CHARACTER INFO: She's a bright, friendly young lady who is one of the sub-members of one of the five top assassin families. The world of MARRIAGETOXIN is wild. No one has supernatural powers (but also ghosts exist and you can curse people?). It's just incredibly bizarre but what it comes down to is people deserve third, fourth, and fifth chances to become better people; break the cycle of abuse, and just have a lot of heart.

While her life hasn't been the best, she is someone who always tries to approach the world optimistically and hopefully. Her heart is incredibly big; she'd pulled into the troubles that others have easily and wants to do her best for them. While this makes her come off as a bit dull-witted, she has a lot of emotional intelligence to know that she's not yet where she wants to be so also wants to keep growing as a person.

PLOTS YOU'RE INTERESTED IN: She's here to make friends and hopefully get some romantic advice, as well. Why not? What she hopes is to become an independent person 'cause she's still relying on someone else to save her. But she won't give up or give in! She's here to help everyone and save those that are in front of her. Here to be your bright sunshine to those who need it! Of course, she's gonna work hard to get enough points to be able to have Sirius with her, but until then, she's gonna try to make friends with all the rodents in Etraya. (Shame, she can't befriend Vincent, the biggest rat of them all. ;A;)

ABOUT YOU: Unfortunately, I am an Arcane fan, which means I'm League of Legends adjacent even if I do refuse to step foot in the LoL mines ever again. Current obsessions: Vintage Story and Sims 4. I also play FFXIV!

CHARACTER: Sevika, from Arcane (end of Season 2).

CHARACTER INFO: Sevika is a mean lady from the pits of hell-- i mean from the undercity of Zaun. She's never been particularly friendly and isn't about to start. Much to her misfortune, she's gone from the second-in-command and enforcer of Zaun's scariest crimelord to having to take over trying to unite the undercity. The results have been mixed. She hasn't been enjoying it. Etraya puts her right back in the position of holding a bunch of baby leashes, which she also doesn't enjoy.

That's essentially the story of Sevika's life: She Doesn't Enjoy This.

Things she does enjoy that aren't any of Those Other Things, though, are violence, drinking, drinking, more drinking, smoking, cards, and other bar-adjacent fun shit (pool, darts, that stuff). She's also a fairly capable mechanic; don't expect her to go around inventing stuff, though. She's more of a fix-and-upgrade-it sort (as in she would be tinkering with her chemtech arm... IF SHE HAD IT >:|).

PLOTS YOU'RE INTERESTED IN: Crime? Crime. Do I think a bubble city has enough going on to support crime? Not really, but pretty sure she's been criming since she was a kid. It's a habit. Other than that, horror plots, fights, being dragged into silly plots she wants nothing to do with, being stuck with babysitting other characters that she also wants nothing to do with (this is also a habit, rip). Investigating Echo is a big one she'd be interested in, finding out if what it claims is true and if there are potentially ways to game the system or outright stop whatever system is deciding what worlds are destroyed/saved.

CHARACTER INFO: Silco is a mean, petty, nasty little crimelord whose reaction to income disparity was to make supersoldier drugs. He's from the literal underground, hates everybody, wants to see everyone suffer, except he's a girldad. :') Has a big nasty scar on his face and a black glowing eye, so he's clearly doing great.

Silco is from his death, so I'm sure you all understand that he is 100% positively normal about that. (he is NOT normal)

I'm sorry to literally everyone for the Arcane Invasion and for all of the drama that's going on with them.

CHARACTER: Jayce Talis of Arcane. He's puppy. Not to be confused with the character that is actually part dog. No but really, he's just a guy trying to do his best. A little entitled, a little unaware, but doing his best. Also as a note, I'm taking him from the end of Season 1, so no Season 2 spoilers (yet) because that will definitely be uhhhhhh a shift.

CHARACTER INFO: Jayce is a guy who wanted to live in a visual novel romance/life sim and somehow got put into a action-adventure turned survival horror. He's more introverted than he gets given credit for, and honestly can be pretty clingy once he's got people he likes and can trust (bro literally had a teenage best friend when he was in college, purely because he didn't have anyone else he could trust 😭). He'd get along best with other science-y types but it's really more about "would someone make fun of him if he went on long-winded tangent about his special interests" that determine if he trusts them.

PLOTS YOU'RE INTERESTED IN: Science stuff but also magic stuff. He likes to interrogate the mysteries of the world. He might not be necessarily chasing the plot unless it has ties to something he finds himself interested in, unless someone convinces him it should be something he should chase down.

SO I'm not a super fast tagger, I tend to do it it bursts a couple times a week. Currently in US Central time.

My fandoms include the current Venom comics & the Riordanverse — Percy Jackson et all, primarily The Trials of Apollo, but I love all the other series, too. Kind of on a Kane Chronicles kick at the moment! I've also got a love for weird old cartoons that you might remember watching at 5am before school on weekdays. Mighty Max may have irrevocably shaped my taste in media as a child.

CHARACTER: Dylan Brock, from Marvel Comics!
CHARACTER INFO:

Dylan is the son of Venom — literally, as both Eddie Brock and the Venom Symbiote (along with Anne Weying) are his biological parents. He's a clever kid, but isn't very good at processing his emotions in a healthy way, so he's got a lot of repressed anger that he's bottling up like a fine champagne.

Dylan spent the first chunk of his life in the care of an abusive grandfather, and once Eddie took custody, things... improved(?) Eddie was loving, but not very dependable. Ultimately Dylan found himself homeless more than once, including at his current canon point. He compensates for his father's shortcomings by taking responsibility for duties Eddie abandoned, including stepping into the role of Venom himself and looking after newborn symbiotes he finds.

Dylan hates feeling like a burden, but sadly, he is prone to lashing out at people he doesn't trust. He's an outspoken kid, and if he doesn't like you, he will say so. That said, he's so starved for scraps of respect and affection that it doesn't take much to at least get him to be civil with you, unless you really are a certified asshole.

He idolizes superheroes, and wants to do what's right, but struggles with lack of foresight for long-term consequences.

GOOD THING HE HAS SLEEPER, his sibling who has been his rock, protector, and voice of reason through many, many times of strife. He will be VERY relieved to have Sleeper here with him in-game.

Also, uh, he technically has a de-powered version of All-Black the Necrosword that he can (theoretically) summon from his chest like Anthy Himemiya, although he can't access it without being bonded to a symbiote. When the sword is summoned, Dylan gets a power up into Sephiroth from FF7 Codex, a Cool Edgy Older version of himself with extra strength & special powers. But he does not currently have access to that power.

PLOTS YOU'RE INTERESTED IN: someone please show this boy how to be a goddamn teenager. He needs adults he can depend on and friends he can chill out with. As he gets close to kids his age he'll probably try to step into that Responsible Leader role and become some kind of mom friend.
