⏵ mission prep ⏴ On the morning of the 29th, characters will receive a notification from Aurora to come to the hospital’s ground floor to prepare for their first mission. On this floor, pairs will be given slips of paper with matching numbers. If characters have chosen their partners, they too will receive small slips of paper with matching numbers, as these numbers match the room assignment they will be asked to please step inside. The rooms themselves are bare. There’s a cot, two chairs pushed up against a small table, a miniature fridge set up below a sink, and a television that only plays static. On the table is a note, which simply reads: Welcome. To prepare you for your first mission, we are giving you time to get to know your partner. You have a twelve-hour time limit to discuss your lives together. We recommend talking about moments throughout your life that have defined the person you have become. In addition, we have included several ingredients inside the miniature refrigerator. You must, without telling your partner specifically what it is, create their favorite drink using the ingredients within and above the refrigerator. Do not attempt to cheat. Do not make your own drink. If you pass, you will both be given two points and the door will unlock. If you fail, you may try again with the same partner or a new partner may be reassigned to you. Good luck. Within the mini fridge will be numerous ingredients - these ingredients could be anything, from Bantha milk to dragon fruit - whatever their favorite drinks are, they will find all the correct ingredients to make them. There will also be numerous extra ingredients. Maybe a character’s favorite drink is a nice cup of peppermint tea. The kettle, and the tea bags, will be present on top of the mini fridge, but there may also be soda bottles inside the fridge and various milk substitutes. Cheating by making their own drink will result in the game being reset, and a new partner being assigned or no partner at all being assigned and they will simply be removed from this part of the exercise. ⏵ the secret's out⏴ Numerous notes can be found throughout Etraya’s populated areas - falling from the sky, taped to doors, slid under them, or perhaps being handed out by a few of the companion bots who will eagerly note how these are meant to help, but a quick read may show that they’re not things anyone wants to be given out so freely. After all, on the notes are secrets, untold truths, things that were never meant to be shared nor wanted out in the open. Some of these aren’t notes at all, but small packages that are not addressed to anyone in particular, or addressed to the incorrect party. Inside the packages are items that may be associated with a particular event: a knife that had been used to betray a friend still stained with blood, a mask meant to conceal identity, a picture featuring a moment in time that had best been left forgotten. The goal of the game becomes clear by the notes written on the back or thin slips within the packages: match the secret to the person. You could simply ignore them, but the note also includes an addendum: more notes will continue to be sent until the person is matched to their secret. ⏵ NOTES ⏴ Sign-ups to be given a partner can be found HERE. Details

Michiho's true background is as follows:

One day, M Town fell under a famine and so the Mayumura Sisters were chosen, along with two eligible suitors, to take part in a ritual called "The Departed's Wedding" to cleanse the town of the famine. Unbeknownst to the sisters, who were expecting a happy wedding and a happy married life, the ritual was not what they believed.

After their suitors were decapitated by the priests and offered as sacrifices, Mikiko and Michiyo were covered in mold and insects, respectively, and trapped in a confined space, forced to subsist on nothing but mold and insects in order to survive, while their bodies rotted away over time due to the mold and insects infesting them.

The intention behind this grotesque ritual was to essentially turn them into the living dead so that they could be offered as brides to the two deities Mushigami and Kabigami. Eventually, the two sisters died from their treatment, both of them bearing a strong grudge for the village and priests that stole their youth and their dreams of a happy marriage.

Michiho is actually Michiyo, the sister given to the Lord of Insects/Mushigami and is one half of the entity known as The Departed.

Some of the things that might be thrown around could be: a big dead centipede, this wedding processional picture, or a Japanese wedding hood

Alternatively, there's probably going to be things dealing with the plot of the game. It's about a spirit sending notes around declaring who the next victim of some spirit is going to be (such as something like "Hanako's going after Model next" or w/e). Some things might appear dealing with that but I'm thinking on it... Maybe something like a pair of bloody scissors for the Slit-Mouth Kashima case she was working on... Or one of the notices declaring a past murder by a spirit? strokes chin

SHAKEN, NOT STIRRED: I'm down for both randomized partners and anyone who wants to partner up with Hayan specifically! Hayan's favorite drink? Grape juice, lol. Hayan can drink almost anything but she can't eat anything food wise - it'll make her incredible nauseous. She has to stick to blood or products made with blood (in the manga she and Euntae eat a lot of seonjiguk mostly so they can eat the chunks of sliced congealed ox blood included with it / in it).

SECRET’S OUT: So Hayan doesn't have a whole lot of secrets. However you might find a picture of her and her family or maybe a faded Korean newspaper talking about people seeing a mysterious flying person in the sky. That last one was her father playing with her and sort of forgetting to keep himself toned down so as not to scare the humans around.

Also I would be thrilled for her to find other's secrets. She and Euntae are ... okay detectives???

CHARACTER: Francis Krouse
SHAKEN, NOT STIRRED: Culver's Fresh Frozen Custard salted caramel milkshake is Krouse's favourite, which he hasn't had for a while. I'm open for a specific partner but if that doesn't pan out I'll be signing him up for randomization.
SECRET’S OUT: Krouse has so many secrets, so let's start with something on the lesser end: Krouse helped work to get a member of the e-sports team he wanted to be on bumped so he could move from second string to first. Notes might include references to backstabbing, things being unfair, 'you know this is exactly why he started dating her', and that someone else worked ten times as hard as he did.

Items might include an empty disposable coffee mug, a scarf, a computer mouse, and an empty piece of rolling luggage.

My main goal for CR here is starting to develop some seeds of suspicion regarding Krouse's trustworthiness, while also having him deal with an early instance of manipulating people that went wrong. He was technically the better player, but the way he handled things wasn't fair to the person who got bumped, and it fed resentment that turned into a problem down the line. He'd also be particularly offended by a note that insinuates he started dating the team captain to get on the team, because that genuinely wasn't the case, just an accusation tossed out in the heat of the moment. Otherwise, I mostly want him to get weird and uncomfortable talking about his former team, where a lot of his other, worse secrets are rooted.

Natsuno can find one of the notes, if you're down? He'll be suspicious of backstabbing, but when he realizes it's about a gamer team his reaction would probably shift to "oh that's it?"

SHAKEN, NOT STIRRED: lol alcohol. drink of choice is anything like that. coffee would be second choice but she'd just want to add something to irish it up.

i don't have a partner in mind for jessica but if anyone wants to team up, I'm down! otherwise, i'll randomize her and sorry to whoever gets her.

SECRET’S OUT: while jessica doesn't keep the whole super strength thing under wraps, there's a lot associated with her life that she would definitely not want out there. her object would probably be just a shade of purple and it would royally piss her off so be careful if you find that shit.

that would also tie into her secret about the man that wears that color though she would rather eat glass than talk about him.

Not so fun fact: Krouse here was very recently being mind controlled by another inmate while in super-prison. The effects will have (mostly) worn off by the time the mission rolls around, but as Jessica is aware, the trauma tends to stick around.

If you'd be interested in Krouse finding the shade of purple and trying to figure out who it belongs to, I'd be very down! I really enjoyed them on the TDM.

SHAKEN, NOT STIRRED: His fave is probably a chocolate milkshake, haha. I think that would be more fun for someone to make than just grabbing him hard liquor. I might have a partner already, but I'm really interested in people finding his items.

a handmade doll with blonde pigtails: it belonged to his sister who died young and he helped raise her so it will have a big impact on him.

a pair of wrist manacles once used to restrain him when he had his little magical rage problem

a fishing rod and tackle box: these were items he obtained while on the Ximilia so it could spark conversation about one of his hobbies or where he came from since it wasn't from his home world.

wood whittling kit wrapped up in a leather case: small knives or various metal tools for shaping. It's another of his hobbies and he's bummed he left the Ximilia before he had the chance to make more things for people.

SHAKEN, NOT STIRRED: Champagne is her go-to for all the best evenings of her life, so I'll probably go with a mimosa as her drink of choice.

Since Sylvie will, no lie, probably be really bad at guessing other people's drinks of choice, I could see her going through a couple of partners before getting it right, if she ever does. I will sign her up for randomized partners in a moment. If anyone's dying to partner her, let's see if she won't be working with a few different matches and they end up together eventually!
SECRET’S OUT: Sylvie's secret is that she had an affair with her brother's mistress, Eloisa Paolo, until the other woman left her and ran off to unknown adventures. This secret will be represented by a sketchbook full of sketches of Eloisa in various stages of dress. Sylvie will be very embarrassed that someone else came upon that book and she would really like to be able to keep it at the end of the mission, thank you.

SHAKEN, NOT STIRRED: His favorite drink is mocha latte. I'm open to anyone who wants to partner up, otherwise I'll sign him up to be randomized. Also can have more than 1 partner, he can always lose an exercise on account of being terrible at playing along.

SECRET’S OUT:
- A bunch of withered flowers: Natsuno's best friend turned into a vampire and killed him. After that, he'd put flowers by Natsuno's window every night, unaware that Natsuno turned as well and was watching him.
- A newspaper clip about the mysterious demise of Sotoba village. It burned to the ground, and many corpses were found decapitated or with trauma to the heart area. An especially disturbing find was a mass grave sealed shut by an explosion, full of staked corpses. The surviving villagers refuse to speak. This can come with more papers saying stuff like he blew it up, referring to Natsuno's involvement in the humans' massacre of the village vampires.
- Two halves of a bloodstained collar. Under the blood, one half says "dumb" and the other says "baby." It's from Come Sail Away's battle royale event, where Natsuno end up winning despite his best attempts not to play. It was very traumatizing.

SHAKEN, NOT STIRRED: He'll be partnered with Xiao Xingchen because we are awful. His favorite drink is sweet wine, but let's be honest, this boy will drink/eat anything sweet. However upon learning the rules, he won't have any issue making his Daozhang's favorite drink. The question is: should Xiao Xingchen trust it or not?
SECRET’S OUT: His secrets are all awful. For example, he once beheaded a chained man with his own sword. He also served another man tongue tea (made from the man's own tongue). Oh and he betrayed the one and only love of his life so badly that the man committed suicide in front of him. As for objects that might be found...

Maybe Nie Mingjue's sword, Baxia? Jiangzai, Xue Yang's sword, remains with him, of course. But it's not like he hasn't used other weapons. Thus a dagger would be appropriate and maybe a length of chain or rope.

SECRET’S OUT: Padmé's one secret is that she married a Jedi. Her wedding veil could be found along with a bouquet of flowers from that day. Good luck getting her to admit to it, though. Anakin is someone she protects fiercely.

I guess a secondary, lesser secret, could be that she was once a Queen. It's not like she has hidden that from anyone, but as a Queen, she did keep her face heavily painted. Cosmetics could be found - white paint for the face, for example - or maybe a few bits of jewelry?

Open to randomizing and having multiple rounds with various characters since she could very easily fail at making someone's drink.

SECRET’S OUT: Rita doesn't really have much in the way of deep dark secrets--rather, her vibes are more that she just doesn't like admitting or acknowledging certain feelings! So her own secrets lean more that way, but I'm up for having her find someone else's terrible secrets. As such, most of hers are notes, but here's some options:
-several notes about fears: 1) Rita says ghosts don't exist, but that's only because she's terrified of them! 2) Rita's secretly afraid of heights, except when she uses her own magic to fly. 3) Rita finds dogs just a little scary! 4) What Rita really fears is losing the people she loves.
-another note, for someone looking to do slightly more detective work: "Blastia will never betray me, so they're easy to deal with." The note includes a colour drawing of the gold choker she wears.
-a sappy note about friendship with a side of worry: Sometimes she's too embarrassed to say it, but Rita's friends are more precious to her than anything else. She's more worried about her world than she wants people to know.
-a mortifyingly embarrassing note about family: Ever since she was little, Rita was lonely, so she wanted family who would always be there.
-a plush doll with accompanying note: A genius mage's first friend...and crush.
-a bloodstained duffel bag, embroidered with the name Rita Mordio, and containing enough water bottles and MREs--all untouched--to last a few days. (From CRAU battle royale event, where she died very quickly! Whoops.)

Some options:
1. A collection of 3 vials stained with a glowing green liquid (no liquid left). Corresponding secret - was definitely considering resurrecting people via the Lazarus Pits, which can bring people back insane.
2. A biohazard bag with pieces of a human spleen inside. Corresponding secret - It used to be his. If this is some sort of trial by combat for your universe, he's not going to tell people he's a bit immuno-compromised.
3. Adoption papers, showing one Timothy Jackson Drake was adopted by one Bruce Thomas Wayne at the age of 17. It's not a secret, buuut it certainly makes things awkward to have people know.

The only thing I'll hold in reserve is that Tim = Robin. Technically, he showed up in full gear, but I'm saying he swiped an outfit from a half done department store (I saw in the questions on a previous post that was possible). His gear is currently stashed in his apartment as best he can. If you know his canon and there's a secret you want your character to know - or if you want to nominate a different secret for me to make available to someone else? Let me know!

First: THE BACKSTORY

So once upon a time, Rin was turning fourteen, and then some little upstart named Anotsu Kagehisa brought his gang to her home and had her parents murdered in front of her. Before that, though, he told them why: generations ago, both his and Rin's grandfathers were disciples at the Muten-ichi-ryu, the sword school led by Rin's family. They were both contenders for the succession of the school. One fine day, they were out and about with their master, when they were ambushed by bandits.

The students fought to protect their master, and Anotsu defeated about twice as many bandits as Asano. For this, he was expelled from the school. The reason their master, Rin's great-grandfather, gave for this, was that Anotsu used two swords, which goes against the school's teachings, and worse: one of them a foreign blade! Le gasp.

Second: Passing on the trauma wheeeeeee.

Item: A very stylishly painted kitsune mask. It is painted with blood.

Secret #2; cw: rape, murder

One of the enemies Rin ran into during her revenge quest was Kawakami Araya, the man who led the gang rape of her mother. Except, surprise! He has a son. Which means that Rin decides she doesn't want to kill the guy, but she does want an apology. So she goes to seek him out all on her lonesome and saves his son from being cut-up by some jerkass samurai in the process. To thank her, the kid, Renzo, invites her to his home.

She ends up being alone in a room with Araya, who sent Renzo away to "fetch tea". He scoffs at her demand for an apology and tries to kill her, as he thinks that if he allows her to live, she might end up telling Renzo about who he used to be. Manji, Rin's bodyguard, finds them, and the two men fight. Manji wins and Araya dies just as Renzo returns. In rage, Renzo stabs Manji. Rin buries Manji's arm (they're reattachable, don't worry) in order to trick Renzo into believing he's dead, and Rin and Manji keep going on their way.

He's probably really not gonna be happy that, that is floating around. Not only is it a reminder of what he's left behind but it's also going to be hard to trace to an owner as it's signed with his true name; Anthony. It's a double whammy in the 'secrets' department.

Customized barrel and stock, it has a painted drum cover with the phrase; 'double trouble'. This gun is not his, though he would recognize it straight away.

The are likely slightly catty and while he might not feel that way now, this world isn't kind enough to let him forget that he at one point had them and may out him as the sort of selfish bitch he'd been trying to contain, but clearly still may exist.

I secretly would love for those to just start popping up, while he wouldn't be 'embarrassed' by them persay he probably wouldn't be entirely happy that they were popped around for people who literally know nothing about him to see. Especially since most of the people he's met thus far are fairly serious do-gooders. It will likely make him feel as though people will not be able to take him seriously here which will likely really bother him, since he is trying to be seen as 'better than that'.

SHAKEN, NOT STIRRED: coffee! specifically, the type of slightly burnt coffee one would get out of those giant standing coffee dispensers so often seen in hospitality settings, with two creams and a questionable amount of sugar. she also likes water that isn't recycled through a space station or needs to be boiled because weird stuff lives in the river, but that's a little boring...

Fett's drink of choice is also (ice) water, so imagine these two getting paired and just... pouring each other a glass of water. Done. Easy :|b Clarke immediately scores points in Fett's book for her sensible choice of beverage and for saving him from the need to play bartender.

If that's not in the cards, maybe Fett could find one of her secret packages? Perhaps the knife and severed fingers? He's been tasked with taking severed pieces from his targets before, so he wouldn't be squeamish at all about tracking down the owner.

SHAKEN, NOT STIRRED: signed up for random, but am open to having multiples also. his favorite drink is whiskey, neat. i think it'd be kind of funny if someone made some weird ass punch for him to drink. alcohol doesn't affect him anyway so he'd probably just drink it for laughs or encourage them to try again. if someone has a very specific mixed drink they like, i think it'd be funny to make bucky puzzle over that too cause he just doesn't ever really order cocktails or mocktails and has no idea what good things go into them.

SECRET’S OUT: pretty much most of bucky's life is a big secret, despite what is publicly available even in his own world. half of it is lies that just look better on paper so he doesn't normally contest them either.

i think it'd be interesting if people could find out there's a mass killer among them, since obviously this is uh about saving their worlds and probably echo wants collab instead of backstab. especially since under hydra's control a lot of it was willing participation, notes can be phrased in a very condemning way.

otherwise he has a lot of innocuous things that he never shares with anyone that people can find out also, like not sleeping on a bed or cooking late at night when he can't sleep, etc. really, i'm open to whatever angle anyone would like to explore.

more than likely, items would just be gear related to the winter soldier, but it'd probably be funny too if someone managed to get their hands on cap's shield and then just kept it or something, haha. it's a fashion accessory. ✨

I would 100% love to explore the cooking aspect if you wanted~? Maybe find a couple of favourite recipes and makes them until he catches on that its weird to find recipes for banging dishes handed to you via robots.

Angel is an avid cook, he'd probably go hog wild if he found like Momma Barnes recipe for twice baked potatoes or ~whatever~.

SHAKEN, NOT STIRRED: Hahaha. No. Jason ain't talking about his life. Not with some random stranger. Sure, he's willing to talk about his adventures with the Phantom Troupe Outlaws, but he's going to deflect the hell out of anything substantial! I'm not sure if that's allowed, but he ain't talking about anything even remotely serious. Don't even try. He'd be willing to open up a teeny bit to people he knows, which right now is basically Tweedledee and Tweedledum. If he can breeze on by with surface-level talk, then he's all up for random partners. The more the merrier!

Secret 2: He likes classic books. A package addressed to Jason contains a first-edition copy of Pride and Prejudice by Jane Austen and The Count of Montecristo by Alexander Dumas. If possible, he'd like to keep those.
