Krouse (reformed not currently active teen villain teleporter) is also a fresh adult trying to grapple with guilt about big choices and an enjoyer of various nerd things, so I'd be interested in flinging him at Peter while he's still in his own personal 'barely pretending to be a regular guy' era.

Laura would probably just mystify him initially, but he's prone to being sympathetic to her whole terrible circumstances. He's not great with kids, but Laura isn't a typical kid, either, so maybe it could work out. Just don't stab him tiny angry child.
