nate and anomaly.
Nearing the end of the mission and Nate being the anomaly's influencer, I figured I'd toss up a post like this to discuss those who want to "deal with Nate" when he's been clocked as the Etrayan that's been rumored to have been taken over by the anomaly. Quentin and Sophie will have clocked Nate and the anomaly being a thing with being telepaths themselves while Gorgug and co. have a means of dampening/nullifying the anomaly's influence which will annoy Nate a little and he's sure to go looking for the things blocking the spread. More info on that from players in this post.
On that side of things, if people want to encounter Nate or be influenced by the anomaly further when he's on the hunt for these nullifiers, we can do something with that? This could turn into a bit of PVP if you're not on the same wavelength of him for thinking with this and comes with the potential of him injuring others if that's what you're looking for. I'm not looking for him to kill anyone, but. The offer to go against him in whatever capacity is there, be it fighting or trying to talk him down.
On the flipside, if you're looking to go against someone you wouldn't normally (friend, lover, family, etc.), Nate can help you do that with the anomaly's influence. If you're looking to get messed up in a traumatic way via a mind break of sorts because you got in his way, Nate as a telepath can break your mind a little. There's a few options that can directly and indirectly involve him. Ultimately, Nate is going to be stopped and taken down by Knife in the form of being stabbed as one does sometimes, but. Prior to that, other interactions and fighty-fight can happen.
Dealing with any of this is entirely optional and not something everyone needs to participate in, but. If you want a little fighty-fight for your character, be it with Nate or against someone else, that's what this is for. This can be discussed and handwaved or threaded out, I'm honestly fine with whatever's easiest for you. Just let me know and we can figure it out.

will do: teach people about telepathy uses and how to defend themselves* while yapping about turning into her mother under her breath, find people to help deal with it, connect people's brains so that they can run communication smoothly, steal senses from everyone so she's in the loop, keep an ear on the telepathic airway for thoughts and feelings that might be of importance, and manipulate mansplain gaslight girlboss her way through any place needed.
will not do: allow extreme violence or death to come nate's way from the people she enlisted for this, mind control**, be on the field, frontline.
* due to the fact that she trusts no one not to turn it on her in the future, she will choose carefully what to say, when to say it and who she is telling what. sorry, she sucks.
** mind control is on the table if extremely necessary, but she would need a chaperone so she doesn't overdo it. don't make her give her 6 months of being a decent person chip back.
knife's contribution
since there's an abundance of telepaths on-deck for the big end, i'd like to supplant that trying to tap into knife's mind will yield a lot of shrieking kickback; they will be extremely single-minded about stopping the source of the manipulating element
their personal scrying is more magic-leaning, so they're going to be reliant on cues from others, and will shadow people from afar to find the source
this opens up opportunities for anyone trying to poke brain-feelers on them to get swiped at before or after the Big Stab if u so please

I'm also open to having him fight anyone that would be defending Nate.
Edit: I don't know how or when he'd find out who the source of the anomaly is, but another option would be for him to not know and just run into Nate while he's out distributing nullifiers.

These would have started to be passed out, and Gorgug would have contacted people to help with spreading them out, and also hopefully getting them out to NPCs, etc. If you've got CR with Gorgug, he would have chatted with you! So if your character would want to help with it, then thumbs up.
Gorgug is living with Jayce and Viktor, and with them, he would have started looking into getting their hands on or making a machine to send out wave lengths to suppress the effects over the cities. And during these nullifiers getting out, Nate will get the idea that something is going out and try to find the source.
Unless the info gets out or someone tells him, Gorgug doesn't know about Nate and isn't going after him directly, but just trying to suppress the morality shift. Though if he does find out it's Nate doing it (though probably regardless of that), he'll be making some stronger, telepath-blocking pins for an immediate group because Gorgug has some fears about being controlled, but also knows that Nate can look through peoples' eyes, etc!
If anyone would want to tell Gorgug about Nate, or try to use what he's doing to draw out the anomaly/Nate, that's cool!
As a note, if your character got a hold of the pins, didn't, that's totally up to you! And we're planning for the larger nullifier to work towards the end of the event so that it doesn't interrupt with any plans anyone had!

He'll tell Gorgug about Nate if he finds out as long as he's able to, but since I haven't planned out the details of any of that yet I don't know if/when that would happen.
