Clive can be kind of intense about what he believes in and that translates to how he interacts with people. Not like bad intense just very intent on making sure the other person knows where he stands with them and what their worth is (and that their feelings are worth exploring and expressing). He's not the 'pet your hair and tell you it'll be okay' kind of gentle caring. More of a 'stare you in the eye and tell you that he will help you deal with your shit' kind of caring.
