⏵ June State of the Game and Arrivals ⏴ Hello, Etrayans! We hope you enjoyed your time at Summer Camp! Or if your character had the fun of going off to Solmara, we hope they enjoyed fighting beasts, and convincing Borealis to come out of hiding! For this application round, we have opted to keep them open an additional week. We announced this over plurk, but realize not everyone checks there! Their new closure date will be July 4th. This will not impact our log or posting schedule at all. In addition, as of today, June 27th, the X-Men cast is no longer under cap. We've got our arrival mingle going up later today to welcome new characters! Please keep an eye out for it. On July 11th, our mission announcement and plotting post will be going up. We do want to note that this next mission will be off world, and we intend for its' duration to be four weeks. As always, we strive to be flexible and build our missions up to suit our player base/characters currently in game, so if we need to slow it down some or put up any additional logs mid-mission, we may check in with our players during to get a feel on if that would help any. Our last feedback post went up on June 19th with our next coming up on September 18th - but we welcome feedback throughout the year regardless of if there's a specific post asking for it! You are always welcome to comment to our older feedback posts with any concerns, comments, or ideas of what we can do to improve the game. We can't promise to bring everything into play, but we do listen to the ideas that have been brought our way and have implemented many player suggestions in the past. She needs that so much, and it's okay: He doesn't have to be nice back. People being too nice just make it worse lbr.

Physical exercise really, really does help. She's going through intense grief and basically everybody dumped their logistics on her so she's had no time to process and had to step away from most of the things she'd use as coping mechanisms. That's why she's going so hard on physical activities in game so far: She knows it helps, she just couldn't do it at home. (e.g. she had to be the caretaker for someone with severe burn wounds and watch over two irresponsible older people - can't really go swim/practice dance for hours you know?)

Although I'm not sure making Clea better at fighting is a net positive for the world... She knows basic fencing, but it's more performance/sport fencing than actual real fighting.

No problem!

Clive can be kind of intense about what he believes in and that translates to how he interacts with people. Not like bad intense just very intent on making sure the other person knows where he stands with them and what their worth is (and that their feelings are worth exploring and expressing). He's not the 'pet your hair and tell you it'll be okay' kind of gentle caring. More of a 'stare you in the eye and tell you that he will help you deal with your shit' kind of caring. Good luck getting him to do the same for himself but hey, that's pretty typical of caretakers.

Yeah, then he would definitely avoid asking the guy he knows that fences about teaching her. He would probably just piss her off anyway lol. He's good at that. Basic exercise is good and Clive is learning that he likes dancing so maybe they can teach each other stuff. He grew up in a noble household so he knows how to do more formal dances, although it has been quite some time.

He is... taking up pole dancing. He does not know what it implies, only that he enjoys how difficult it is. He's basically from medieval times so-

I'm tagging in to you right now! :D Also as I tagged in, I realized it would be really funny if Clive assumes she's better than she is and just like...demolishes her at this...

Clea is very intense and does not do coddling. She's like..the anti-coddler. Deep down it comes from a decent place, but it's almost all tough love all the time. With emphasis on the 'tough' part. She also shares his tendency for self-neglect, but that's recent and grief-induced. She generally takes pretty good care of herself when she's not on the verge of a breakdown...

I think dancing could be really interesting. Clea loves art in all it's forms and it's a good in road to seeing her...not being a giant bruise emotionally. It's where her joy flows from and she's pleased to share it. Clea's not noble, but her family are rich Parisians, so she knows all the (what she'd consider) stuffy old classical and partner dances as well and they would have been some of the foundational dances she learned so she knows how to build on that knowledge. Plus she's into pushing the boundaries of art so she can introduce some different, odd styles.

I used to play a FEmblem so I know those medieval feels! Clea is really early modern, so she's before pole dancing but during its predecessors and would immediately cotton on that it's an erotic artform. Not that she'd object - in fact, she'd take to it rather well and find it enjoyable. It would just be funny for her to be like 'oh, I don't know this style - Oh now I get it.' so quickly when he's like '?' Clea just like oh no it's fine, keep going. Keeeep going.

I have started on XIV, but I'm still getting through post-credit stuff for ARR, so still way early on with that yet. But that isn't.....wrong? Vivi is a creation. But yeah, he also learns and develops his own identity throughout the game.

But yes. If anyone can unintentionally poke at people to help/soften to him, it is Vivi. For sure.

I am canonblind since I only saw Fiancé barely play the start of the game to test it out, but. You know, saying that will just make me want to poke at her. But yes, I am glad to see others out there are also fans. IX is kind of underrated imo. It was my first FF that I actually finished, even if I played through VII and VIII first (lost my memory card for those).

He definitely would. Clive generally assumes that his opponents are capable, especially when they seem like they might be on a cursory glance. He might... feel a little bad after destroying her. Maybe. Depends on how it goes.

Clive hasn't been coddled a day in his life haha. The closest he gets is his brother's affection. Zero coddling growing up then went straight into the military then straight into needing to save the world so. No chances for tenderness there. But he does have a really big heart and just. Loves people. So that is sweet.

They should totally learn how to pole dance together. That would be fun and kinda cute. Clive is a pretty quick study himself, but seeing someone who can master it easier that he can also learn from would be invigorating.

CHARACTER INFO: Princess Sonia was separated at birth from her mother and two brothers, destined to fulfill an ancient prophecy regarding Robotnik's defeat. She was raised among the aristocrats that fund Robotnik's empire and lived a charmed, sheltered life of nobility before she learned her true identity and had to flee with her brothers to join the Resistance.

She's a kind and caring girl (polite, friendly and supportive, makes friends easily, often genuinely interested to know more about those she meets so she can learn from them) with all the stubbornness of a Hedgehog (strong-willed and daring, enthusiastic about helping others, optimistic but patient). Booksmart and a deep thinker, always inquisitive about the world around her, prefers to plan ahead but a quick thinker when she has to be. Trusting to a fault. Wry sense of humor.

tl;dr she's Sonic the Hedgehog's sister and she's got style by the mile.

I think he's picking it up quick and is trying to process how he feels about it because it's a very good thing? But also what does that say about his struggles with Jason back home?? Well, hurting/traumatizing Vivi would be a good way to get people to call her on her shit and that is appealing. But Clea's also a giant spoiler almost by nature and I saw you were trying to avoid them.

I LOVE IX. IX is my 2nd favorite of the PS1 era FFs (only because the top spot is won out by FFT which is a masterpiece). I feel like more people appreciate it now, but when it came out it was definitely underappreciated. The characters, music, and storytelling are all top notch, and I really like how they handled the ability system too. Plus it has the best mini game in existence. (Look I'm just saying if they made an entire Chocobo hot and cold game, they should SHUT UP AND TAKE MY MONEY.)

I need to play the Suikoden rereleases and the FFT rerelease when they come out, but FFIX is on my to replay list. :D

Yeeesss. No, don't feel bad! Clea would see it as the compliment that it is. She's taken seriously! (And it's also something that happens when you're decent at something and run into somebody who does it seriously/professionally. Like I'm the best Tetris player pretty much my entire social circle knows, and I would get bodied hard in any kind of professional competition.)

He does sound sweet. Clea wonders how people like that survive. Genuinely.

They SHOULD. Don't feel bad, Clive. She's a dancer and is also really damn flexible. She'll be happy to watch you do it, no matter how long it takes you to learn. Maybe a little too happy and will she explain? Probably not. Shhh. Don't take this from her. (She's an artist, let her appreciate good views.)

(FEmblem is fun! I fell off FF after XII but I still love it. XV is on my to play list but it keeps being bumped. Although as a Michigander I definitely want to see the Japanese take on a buddy road trip. YES, COOL CARS ARE COOL. LET'S APPRECIATE THAT. <3)

Ah, yes. The walking spoiler type. Yup. I have at least one similar sort of character, if also way more obscure. It can be tricky to balance.

But yes. I do want to gradually work my way through the other FF I haven't played. IX was just the first I actually finished, but it sure felt like most people skipped it because of the timing, with just going to the PS2 when it released.

I played on PS, but I would like to replay with mods if I can poke my fiance to help me figure those. I did see we are getting Tactics rereleased, so might get to that at some point too.

Yup yup yup! So no CR for now, but I love Vivi and wanted to make it known that I love Vivi and will be on the sidelines cheering with Vivi pompoms.

A lot of people were introduced to FF (and JRPGs) here with VII and since VII and VIII share certain similarities, they were put off by IX. Personally, I think IX has aged the best of that era aesthetically. Tactics is 100% work playing, but the gameplay is a complete departure from the mainline series.

I've played I-XII (minus XI and I don't even think you can play that any more so *shrug*), if you want recommendations on which ones you might like depending on what you liked about IX. (I'm a librarian who isn't working as one and I rarely get to flex my recommendation muscles...). Huh. I never played FF on a PC, so I never thought about there being mods, but of course there are now. My kingdom for a fast travel mod.

I can offer Vivi. He's way too gullible and very impressionable, but is gradually getting more confident over time with his abilities.
