⏵ April State of the Game and Arrivals ⏴ Hello, Etrayans! We hope you all enjoyed spending time on Aphaia with your characters! As our application rounds have switched up some (moving to every other month rather than monthly), we wanted to note our upcoming plans for the next couple months: tomorrow, April 25th, we will have our mingle up for newcomers. This will provide some detail about how newcomers are coming off of Aphaia and into Etraya, so keep that in mind if you intend to throw up an intro before the log! Our next Mission Announcement will be on May 9th, with the mission log following on May 16th. This will be a lighter mission than Aphaia, and will be on Etraya rather than off world. We do want to note that we have plans to include Solmara in this log, and intend to offer volunteers the ability to wrap up that plot. This would mean missing out on most, if not all, of the mission on Etraya, but it is purely optional! We will also be capping Marvel's X-Men cast after this application round. This means that while other Marvel characters can still be applied for, we will not be allowing any more applications from the mutants cast specifically until we specify otherwise. Our next feedback post is going up on June 19th - but we welcome feedback throughout the year regardless of if there's a specific post asking for it! You are always welcome to comment to our old feedback posts, also! If you have any comments, questions, concerns, our Mod Contact page is always open! ABOUT YOU: Obviously I like the DrakeNieR series. Reincarnation is my favorite and I'll always be forever sad about how it ended and how neglected the EN side of everything felt! I work part-time at a library. I do digital art and graphic design sometimes. Recently, I've been trying to participate more in fan zines and books. I play Final Fantasy XIV, but mostly live the PvP life and do nothing else, lmao... I play a variety of gacha games on and off. Recent ones are Hoyo games and Cookie Run Kingdom, but I guess I'm on a bit of a break right now because I haven't opened any in a while! Some manga I like: The Girl from the Other Side, Witch Hat Atelier, and I just picked up Medalist. Rabbits and hamsters are my favorite animals.

Tagging speed can be Slow-Medium and I'll backtag for a while. I might take few day breaks as well... I'm probably going to be a little spotty starting now towards early next month because I have a couple of projects to finish up. :') I'll be sliding into the new mingle log a bit late probably...

(Content Warning: Fio's source material comes with a massive amount of heavy themes. For her story in particular, the most notable ones involve child death, neglect, abandonment, abuse, murder, classism, starvation. Not all of it is specifically mentioned in this section, but may be in further reading material should you go looking more into her canon. Her permissions and opt-out is here.) - Fio is or was the recorded memory of a human child, whose story was preserved in a virtual space called the Cage. In reality, she was treated unfairly during her human life and passed away after being abandoned. Her data was heavily damaged and she was in a lot of pain over the memories of her sad life. She was eventually saved and made her first friend with a dark monster named Levania who she affectionately nicknamed "Mr. Monster." She likes to give cute nicknames.

Later on, she found out a very lonely entity was responsible for attacking the Cage to destroy the last bonds of humanity. She made the heavy decision of leaving her best friend behind to keep this girl company on Earth. Currently, she expects that she may be one of the few left on Earth after she's reborn. For the canon familiar, she's from after asking for a very important favor but BEFORE waking up in the final cutscene.

- She's a real human girl now in Etraya. She has weapons to FIGHT, though they are not immediately visible. These giant spheres will manifest out of nowhere if needed. She does not have proper combat training, but she can direct a floating prisoner ball at enemies by clumsily flailing around. She is NOT a violent character and will opt to avoid combat when she can. I really don't want to rely too much on her weapons to make her interesting, so hopefully she can shine through with her personality.

- VERY friendly little girl who tries to remain cheerful in front of hardship until she's pushed to her limit, which is when she'll likely break down into tears. She's pretty much an open book, so it's noticeable when she's trying her hardest to be strong. She tends to focus on the happiness of others and might neglect her own needs. Data entry in canon describes her to have never "lost her kindness, even in the face of needless malice" and that "kindness was not enough to bring her salvation" when it comes to her past, but I think that describes her very well overall...

PLOTS YOU'RE INTERESTED IN:
A little bit of everything with soft fluffy missions to balance out the more serious ones. I kind of figure things out as I go...

- She's going to be thinking a lot about how she can be helpful to everyone! Little tasks are perfectly fine if she can't be involved with the more heavier stuff. She wants to be useful. Also, I would like more people to try to wrangle her and enjoy herself because... she's a child. She really didn't have a good childhood and now she's back to work. She was also called upon in canon to protect her world... now she has to do it again!

- Honestly hoping this setting works out because I want to work on a picture diary (which will be a kind of IC CR Chart) to keep memories that she can one day take with her to Earth. She wants to make friends and learn about others! One of her collab stories mentions she kept an old diary... it would be nice if she wrote in one again. :)

YES give me the prince!!! I still haven't gotten around to playing FF16 but I quickly gleaned over your info... she'll be fascinated over omg more royalty. Also yay, fellow elemental light person!!!

If it's OK, would you be open to having Fio be apartment roomies with Lars? Or alternatively, have her apartment near his... but I can picture she'll be sulky that she has a living space all to herself and that it feels lonely and that could be a thing for them to talk about too.

I'm all for her and Lars being roomies! Lars wouldn't want to leave her all by herself, some of these appliances take getting used to and it feels like too much space just for him after army life.

I said I'll be busy-ish with projects but I'm thinking of getting a short light top-level up for Fio over the weekend at least... if I can brain words. But if you're planning a TL for Dion I can take a look too!

OH RIGHT. she will have to figure out modern day appliances too huh... Lars will be able to hear Fio pushing microwave beepy buttons in the distance...

Welcome to the game!! I'm passingly familiar with NieR (my guy's gacha did a NieR collab which resulted in this delightful thing) and your girlie looks adorable!

If you need more characters for child wrangling Accelerator here is a pro at it. He's done a lot of awful things in his life and his redemption arc is heavily focused on protecting kids, so if he saw Fio around she'd definitely set off his parental instincts lol

I am open for more child wrangling! She's mostly well behaved but she's the sort to do something reckless to help someone if it looks like theres ~no other way~. He can try to protect her and she will very much want to do the same too :( also Accelerator is a very long name and she will likely shorten it...

NieR collab gacha being everywhere would make a lot of sense, since Toaru's wasn't too big and ended after only a couple years. It's cute though!

That's adorable and I highly encourage any nicknames. His name is too long, it's terrible, no one should use it. He's a big pushover when it comes to younger girls since they remind him of his found fam baby sister, so he'd complain a bit but ultimately just go with whatever she wants LOL
