The Gdoc mention I think is more relevant for any other obvious attempts on her life that CAN be prevented, like Anakin is probably gonna be really Goin For her if the cairns do come down, once he's recovered from her compulsion. That angry lad might need some Convincing to say the least (good luck!)
Seeing Ree's suggestion for why Lin could go for healing Vanessa first, it looks plausible to go either way depending on what you feel he'd most likely do! I am not set on her dying so if he can heal her in time, I am 100% for that.
Edit: I should elaborate that I am not against someone interfering once Aelwyn already has her hands on Vanessa, if the player is cool with that, just the initial stabbifying would be too quick to halt bc of the character's proximity. But we also have another magic user on the 'hero' side so it might be worth it for Rowena to try so that gives her something to react to so Lin can focus on healing
