Mirror shards plot!

Hello folks!! There has been some aligning coordination going on in figuring out the mirror shards problem and with people being plopped in them (oops), how to get them out, and also dealing with the boy inside, so I thought making an OOC post could get some teamwork rollin'!

Potential Solution!

Ava Starr (decohere) is capable of moving through the glass and communicating with people inside, while Gorgug is able to magically mend the glass together (if with thin lines that still show where they cracked). They want to gather the pieces so that Ava can go through the glass better, and also potentially extract the souls inside!

Gorgug is going to come up with a solution that involves placing their souls inside blank phones crystals, and then extracting them back into their bodies once they're out inside his lab. Aurora is providing help in getting the necessary crystals, and Gorgug is going to need time to figure everything out.

Aid and Help

There were characters interested in the shards, and I understand there might also be characters who can help with the soul extraction, or even on the magical end! Gorgug would welcome help to anyone who has experience with the soul extraction/putting them back into their bodies, and if anyone happens to know anything about magic and tech... please help too! And also if they can mend magical glass.

For non-magical jobs: Some coordination would also be useful with finding out who got crystal'd, dealing with their bodies. Unless someone has a better idea than using crystals to extract and put a soul back into a body via magic-tech*, Gorgug will need the bodies at his lab to put their souls back in, and it will a couple of days. There's plenty of space in empty rooms that don't have his equipment in them, but they're bare. :(

Some inside-the-mirror coordination may be helpful too, to make sure everyone can be found to get the job done. I also know Tim Drake (mostdangerousbird) has been talking with the boy (posts here), for figuring out the boy's deal, if anyone is interested in that...!

Ava is likely to put up a network post about gathering the glass, but if not, Gorgug would make a post--regardless, planning this will be public. Things are not completely concrete right now, but I figured that laying out a plan or potential plans might help us determine where we can chip in or what's going on!

*if your character would have an easier solution, please share if your character would suggest it! I have no problem with ditching the crystal phone idea, or even incorporating the two!

This may require more of a mod-shaped answer, but I'mma throw it out here so I don't forget later anyway:

Would the people who are having their souls extracted from the mirror realm and placed back in their bodies have any side effects?
Any effects left over from being in the mirror verse?
From their souls being in the crystals?
From being disconnected from their bodies for an extended period of time?
Some kind of mental-emotional-other dysregulation for a period of time or permanently going forward post-soul-restoration?

I've passed these onto the mods as they're more suited for "effects from being stuck in the mirror" answers, and then I'll add anything about the crystals afterwards (though I'm inclined to go with what the player themselves want there for side effects).

Mods got back and said: 'On the mirror-verse side, they may find themselves feeling a little more disconnected for the first few days after getting restored to their bodies, but there won't be any permanent effects.'

So for the crystals, canonically the characters are fine after being in the crystals and coming back out (even after years), but if you would like your character to suffer some temporary side-effects from the transfer, some vertigo, dizziness, etc, I wouldn't have a problem with that! Esp as Gorgug has never done this before.

If anyone comes up with an idea that doesn't involve the crystals, I'll be sure to let you know.

As mentioned in various plurks: Johanna's power set is well-suited for helping to find shards of mirror via sympathetic magic! I think by now she's also carrying the infection from Vanessa, probs, so if anyone wants an opportunity to interact with someone in the early stages of that we could make something happen.

I do know that Dimitri has been collecting shards. Perhaps someone could make post to the network calling for people to bring the shards to them?

Unfortunately, making a network post has become a little tricky due to the timing of the mission announcement and the mods allowing people from the mirror to be out now so that they can respond to the network post connected to it, so it's best as being handwaved. 💦 But it definitely would have happened.

I could perhaps provide a version regardless just so people know what it said, or ask for another player to do so, just so we're all aware of what it would have been.

Unless if someone else would like to put one up regardless and have it backdated! But yes it's a little. Complicated.

That makes sense! Things feel like they're moving fast, but that happens when a bunch of juicy stuff is happening.

Then we can assume this tall blonde gremlin of a man contributed a large amount of mirror shards.
