Barbara's approach goes counter to some of what Crane gets into - which at it's core is behaviorism. Input. Output changes only according to external influence. People need appropriate stimuli to make their choices and change their behavior.
I think it wouldn't have come up for Crane ever honestly. Gordon having a daughter and all. It also puts Crane on the backfoot in not knowing anything about anyone from the other worlds which is interesting for me? Like of course he'd know about Bruce Wayne and Batman (separately of course) and Gordon being in the force. I'd like him to pin the pieces together about Barbara if they get talking?
Also YES MISSIONS. That might get them talking but so might some Arkham shenanigans hmm...
